My Daily Musings-October 28th, 2026
“Jesus may not reveal the whole road. Stillness teaches your heart to recognize His voice; courage teaches your feet to follow.”
As I read this quote, I pictured Jesus walking with us on the road of life. He walks beside us for the entire journey. He can see the whole road in front of us. We can only see a part of it. The part of the quote that talks about stillness made me wonder whether we would recognize Jesus’ voice when He calls us to follow Him if we had our eyes closed. Would we trust Him enough to lead us by the hand even if we couldn’t see where we were going? I agree that we would also need courage to follow Him, especially if we couldn’t see where we were going.
How can we increase our trust in Jesus to lead us by the hand on our journey through life? I think reading the stories in the Bible about Jesus healing and ministering to people helps us trust Him more. However, reading those stories and trusting Jesus in our lives is completely different. It takes a lot of faith and courage to trust Him to help us and strengthen us during our most difficult times.
If you think about it, trusting our family and friends to help and strengthen us requires a lot of confidence. We need to know those people well enough to trust them with our secrets and trust that they will be there for us when we need them. I think it’s the same with Jesus. We need to spend time with Him and learn more about Him to develop the trust we need to rely on Him in our lives.
What helps you trust Jesus when you cannot see the path ahead of you? How do you make time to grow closer to Jesus and learn to recognize His voice in your life?
