A Joyful Reunion with God

Backstory:
Today (July 8th, 2025) marks 10 years since my paternal grandparents died. Just realizing that it has been 10 years made me sad and I wanted to cry for a minute. But then I remembered all of the good times I had with them. That helped some. A while later, I had this amazing feeling of love and joy come over me. I could picture a joyful reunion on the other side when I could hug not only them but all of the loved ones I have lost along the way.

A Joyful Reunion with God

We all lose loved ones in this life,
That’s just a fact and it can really cause strife.
It takes a while to get over that kind of loss,
We might feel like the grief is a huge lake that we can’t get across.

It gets easier over time, line upon line,
Some days are easier and we feel like we will be totally fine.
Then the grief hits us so hard that we feel like we are drowning,
And we might feel like we will forever be frowning.

If you have a day like that,
Just remember that to your Father in Heaven you can always chat.
He knows how to pick you up when you are feeling down,
And He knows how you feel even if you feel like no one else does in your town.

I like to picture a joyful reunion on the other side,
I can picture myself hugging my loved ones who have died.
The joy and love that I will feel at that moment
It will be so intense but I will feel very content.

I also like to picture running into the outstretched arms of my Heavenly Father,
He will welcome me home and to Him I will never be a bother.
I just need to keep going and keep the faith until my life on earth is done,
And into His loving arms I will run.

The Takeaway: It’s always hard when our loved ones pass away. It takes a while to get over something that hard. We don’t have to go through those times alone. Our Heavenly Father is always there to comfort us now while we are on this earth. After this life, we can imagine that we will see and hug our loved ones again including our Loving Heavenly Father. We just need to keep our faith intact and get through those hard times.
