How Sweet the Sound

Melodies & Musings

As a Christian for all of my life, I have always believed in my Savior, Jesus Christ and His power to save me. I have always loved the song, Amazing Grace.

I really like the words of the first verse: “Amazing grace, how sweet the sound, that saved a wretch like me. I once was lost, but now am found, was blind but now I see.”

We are all human and we make mistakes every day. Our Heavenly Father in His infinite wisdom knew we would need a Savior. So in His amazing love for us, He sent His Beloved Son to save all of mankind. Without Jesus, we would all be lost and have no hope of overcoming our weaknesses and mistakes. But, thank goodness, that we have our Savior. Because of Him, there is always hope for us to change and become better.

Have you ever felt so lost and in despair that you didn’t know if you could make it anymore? If you ever feel like this, just picture your Savior’s loving arms around you to raise you up.

I have posted a video of me singing the first verse of this song. I hope it brings you comfort and peace.

  1. Thank you Christine for that beautiful song. It did bring comfort to my heart. Much love!

  2. Thank you all so much for listening and letting me share a piece of my heart with you today. That first verse of Amazing Grace always reminds me that grace isn’t something we have to earn or clean ourselves up to receive—it’s Jesus meeting us right where we are, mess and all.

I’d love to know: When you think about the grace of Jesus in your own life, what’s one word or phrase that comes to mind?
