A Drop in the Ocean of Good

Thank you for subscribing-may these words bring a quiet moment of peace and reflection to your day.

My Daily Musings-April 18th, 2026

Sometimes it’s easy to feel small in a world that feels so vast—like what we do couldn’t possibly matter all that much. But I love this reminder from Mother Teresa:

“What we do is nothing but a drop in the ocean, but if we didn’t do it, the ocean would be one drop less than it is.”

Maybe the difference we make isn’t always loud or widely seen. Maybe it’s in the quiet moments—a kind word, a sincere smile, a simple act of love. Small things, offered with a willing heart.

The Savior spent His life “going about doing good,” often in ways that might have seemed small to others, but meant everything to the one. And as we follow His example in our own little corners of the world, we are making a difference—one drop at a time.

What if the good you’re doing matters more than you realize?
Who in your life might be feeling the impact of your quiet kindness today?

No matter your sphere of influence, your efforts are seen. And I believe they matter—not just here, but to your Heavenly Father too.

Hope Will Bloom Again

Thank you for subscribing-may these words bring a quiet moment of peace and reflection to your day.

My Daily Musings-April 7th, 2026

There was a story shared on Music and the Spoken Word about a woman who was struggling—discouraged and unsure if things would ever get better. While I don’t remember every detail, one truth stood out clearly: because of Jesus Christ, there is always hope.

Life doesn’t always unfold the way we expect. Sometimes prayers feel unanswered, people let us down, or loved ones wander paths we never imagined for them. In those moments, it’s easy to wonder if things will ever feel right again. Have you ever found yourself quietly asking, Will this ever get better?

But just like spring follows even the longest, coldest winter, hope always returns. Flowers bloom again. Light breaks through the darkness. And because of Jesus Christ, that hope isn’t wishful thinking—it’s a promise.

Even on the days when discouragement feels heavy, we are never alone. Our Heavenly Father understands every hurt, every worry, every silent tear. Have you taken a moment to turn to Him and share what’s on your heart?

Because of Him, there is always light. There is always healing. And there is always hope—especially on the days we need it most.

Carrying Hope Beyond the Empty Tomb

Thank you for subscribing-may these words bring a quiet moment of peace and reflection to your day.

My Daily Musings-April 6th, 2026

After the sacred stillness of Holy Week and the joy of Easter Sunday, a quiet question lingers—what comes next?

How do we hold onto that hope we felt so strongly just a day ago, when life settles back into its normal rhythm?

The truth is, life doesn’t suddenly become easy after Easter. We still face hard days. We still struggle. I know I do—especially on days when my health isn’t good, when it’s hard to keep going, and even harder to stay positive. I think that’s part of being human. No one stays strong and hopeful all the time.

But even in those moments of discouragement, something steady remains.

For me, it’s hope.

It’s the quiet belief that things can get better. It’s walking into doctor’s appointments hoping for healing in my body, and sitting in therapy working toward healing in my heart and mind. These things matter, and they help. But I also know that true, lasting healing comes from Jesus Christ—He is the only one who can heal me from the inside out.

And even if my trials don’t disappear… even if they stay with me longer than I’d like… I still have hope.

Hope that brighter days are ahead. Hope that healing is happening in ways I can’t always see. Hope that because of Him, this is not the end of my story.

So maybe the real question isn’t what comes after Easter—

Maybe it’s this:
Will I choose to carry Easter hope with me into every ordinary, difficult, beautiful day that follows?

Dust Yourself Off and Begin Again

Thank you for subscribing-may these words bring a quiet moment of peace and reflection to your day.

My Daily Musings-April 4th, 2026

We all have messy lives. We make mistakes—sometimes without even thinking—and later we look back and wonder, Why did I do that?

But no matter how many times we stumble and fall into the dirt, we can always begin again. Like the old song says, “Pick yourself up, dust yourself off, and start all over again.”

Isn’t that what grace is for?

Jesus is the reason we can start over—again and again. Not because we’re perfect, but because He is. Through Him, our failures don’t have to define us.

So this Holy Week, maybe the question isn’t “Why do I keep messing up?” but instead, “Am I willing to receive the grace He’s already offering me?”

And another question: Do I extend that same grace to others… and to myself?

Give yourself a little grace today—just like Jesus would. Because with Him, you already have all the grace and love you need.

A Door in the Darkness

Thank you for subscribing-may these words bring a quiet moment of peace and reflection to your day.

My Daily Musings-April 1st, 2026

Sometimes we don’t realize how far we’ve wandered until we find ourselves in a place that feels dark, empty, and unfamiliar. Maybe we never meant to go that far. Maybe it happened slowly, one small step at a time.

I recently heard a line that stayed with me:
“I hit a door. I didn’t know that there was a door, but somehow in that dark nothingness, I fell against the door, and it opened for me.”

That image has stayed in my heart.

Even in our lowest, most broken places… there is a door.

We might not see it at first. We might not even know it’s there. But as we reach out—hesitantly, imperfectly—we find it. And when it opens, light pours in.

Jesus Christ is that door.

No matter how far we feel we’ve fallen, no matter how heavy the weight of our mistakes or regrets, we are never beyond His reach. He is not waiting for us to become perfect before we come—He is the way back. The only way.

This Holy Week, instead of letting discouragement take hold, we can choose hope. Because through Him, redemption is always possible. Through Him, we can return home.

Have you ever felt that moment when a “door” opened just when you needed it most?
What would it look like to reach for the Savior today, even in something small?

Because no matter where we are, He is still there—waiting, guiding, and inviting us to come home.

A Light That Cannot Be Dimmed

Thank you for subscribing-may these words bring a quiet moment of peace and reflection to your day.

My Daily Musings-March 24th, 2026

Light doesn’t simply exist alongside darkness—it pushes it back.

Even the smallest flame—a candle, a spark—changes the whole feeling of a dark room. It brings warmth, clarity, and peace. Darkness doesn’t stand a chance once light is present.

Maybe that’s why our Heavenly Father created a world where light is never completely gone. Even in the deepest night, we are given the moon and stars to remind us that darkness is never absolute.

So why do we sometimes believe it is in our own lives?

Jesus Christ is the Light of the world—a light that cannot be overcome or dimmed. When we draw closer to Him, even just a little, His light begins to chase away the darkness in our hearts and minds.

What small step can you take today to move closer to His light?

And where in your life might you already see His light quietly shining, even if things still feel dim?

The Bridge Back to Heaven

Thank you for subscribing-may these words bring a quiet moment of peace and reflection to your day.

My Daily Musings-March 16th, 2026

Sometimes I think about this quote: “Only Jesus could build a bridge to heaven with just two pieces of wood.”

Those two pieces of wood formed the cross. What looked like an instrument of suffering became the very thing that made our return to Heavenly Father possible.

A bridge connects two places that would otherwise be impossible to reach. Without a bridge, the water is too deep or the distance too far. In the same way, the gap between our imperfect lives and the perfection of Heaven is something we could never cross on our own.

But Jesus built the bridge.

Through His Atonement, His sacrifice, and His love, He made a way for us to return home to our Heavenly Father. Every step of repentance, every prayer for help, and every effort to follow Him is a step we take across that bridge.

I am so grateful that when the distance felt impossible, the Savior made a way.

Learning From the Rough Places

Thank you for subscribing-may these words bring a quiet moment of peace and reflection to your day.

Backstory:
Lately I’ve been thinking about the weaknesses we carry and the mistakes we make. Sometimes those struggles feel discouraging, like proof that we are failing or not changing fast enough. But our weaknesses are not meant to defeat us—they are meant to teach us. As I reflected on my own struggles, I began to think of us like rough stones. When a stone is first taken from the earth, it is jagged and uneven. But over time, through polishing and shaping, those rough edges begin to smooth. In much the same way, the weaknesses we wrestle with throughout our lives can shape us if we allow the Savior to work in our hearts. Through His Atonement, our mistakes can become learning experiences instead of endings.

Learning From the Rough Places

My dear Father in Heaven,
I love thee much, without question.
I know I begin like a stone with edges so rough,
And I know being human and changing is tough.

Please help me to smooth out the ways I behave,
To become like Thy Son, the One who can save.
Sometimes when Thy chisel strikes deep into me,
It hurts—but Thou seest what I cannot see.

Thou knowest my soul when I’m tempted to quit;
Thou seest the light when I cannot find it.
When I am discouraged by each flaw and fault,
Please bring my heart’s heavy spirit to halt.

When I lose my temper with those I hold dear,
Help them to forgive me and cast out my fear.
Help me forgive me, and find through Thy grace,
The warmth of Thy steady and loving embrace.

Please, Father, from deep in my flawed, honest heart,
I ask for Thy help to make a brand-new start.
I trust that through Jesus, Thy Beloved Son,
I can be refined until we are all one.

The Takeaway: Weaknesses and mistakes are not signs that we are beyond hope. They are opportunities to grow, to become more humble, and to turn our hearts toward Jesus Christ. Through Him, our rough places can be softened and refined. As we trust the Savior and keep trying, the very things that once discouraged us can become the tools that help shape us into the people our Heavenly Father knows we can become.

The Courage to Keep Trying

Thank you for subscribing-may these words bring a quiet moment of peace and reflection to your day.

My Daily Musings-March 15th, 2026

Sometimes the hardest battles we fight are with ourselves.

There are days when I feel discouraged by my weaknesses. I have struggled with my temper for much of my life, and sometimes the smallest things can set me off—especially when I’m already tired or hurting. In those moments, I feel overwhelmed and wonder if I will ever truly change.

But then I remember something important.

No matter how hard I try on my own, I will always fall short. I’m human. None of us will be perfect in this life. That’s exactly why we need the Savior.

Because of Jesus Christ and His atoning sacrifice, failure is not the end of the story. When we fall, we can repent, stand up again, and keep trying. We may stumble again and again, but every effort to do better matters.

Maybe the goal isn’t perfection right now. Maybe the goal is simply not giving up.

What weakness do you sometimes feel discouraged about?
And how has the Savior helped you keep trying when change feels slow?

Softly He Calls Me Home

Thank you for subscribing-may these words bring a quiet moment of peace and reflection to your day.

Backstory:
While memorizing the words of the hymn “Softly and Tenderly Jesus Is Calling” with my mom, I was struck by the way the words describe the Savior’s voice. At first, He calls softly and tenderly, like a gentle whisper to the heart. But as the hymn continues, His invitation becomes more earnest and pleading. It reminded me of the parable of the prodigal son and how much the Savior longs for each of us to come home to Him. His love is patient, but it is also persistent. He never stops calling us back to Him and He never will.

Softly He Calls Me Home

We are human and we make mistakes every day,
And we need Jesus to redeem us more than we could ever say.
Our Father sent His Son to this fallen world
Where the fiery darts of the adversary are constantly being hurled.

Jesus loves each one of us so much
And He suffered so that we could feel His loving touch.
Jesus is constantly calling us to Him
So that the light in our lives never grows dim.

He starts out calling to us softly and tenderly like a whisper in our heart,
He patiently waits for us to answer Him so we can have a fresh new start.
He is constantly calling to us from up above,
And we can feel His love resting upon us like a peaceful dove.

Even if we don’t hear His soft call the first time or two,
He won’t ever give up because He loves me and you.
He’ll keep on calling no matter what it takes,
Even though every time we ignore Him, His heart breaks.

But He will never give up calling to us
A truth of His mercy we must always discuss.
Until that great day when we see Him again
And He will embrace us every woman and man.

The Takeaway: The Savior’s voice may begin as a quiet whisper, but His love never gives up on us. Whether we feel near to Him or far away, He is always calling us to return. Because of His mercy and forgiveness, we never need to linger in the distance. We can always turn toward Him and come home.
