Walking the Race Together

Backstory:
I recently heard an idea that touched my heart. Sometimes we wonder if we are enough or if we will ever measure up to who Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ want us to become. We may see the distance between our imperfect selves and our perfect Savior and feel discouraged. But what if Jesus isn't standing far away at the finish line waiting for us to catch up? What if He is already beside us, walking with us through every step of our journey? As I have faced health challenges and difficult uphill climbs in my own life, I have found comfort in the thought that the Savior is not only cheering me on but helping me carry the burdens that sometimes feel too heavy to bear alone.

Walking the Race Together

Imagine that you are walking by yourself in the race of life,
Some days the road seems so long and full of strife.
On those hard days, you might feel like you are walking alone,
Because no one knows your struggles and you suffer on your own.

Then you have days when you wonder if you will ever measure up
Because you are so flawed and you need someone to fill your faith cup.
You are constantly walking up a steep mountain incline
Because your burdens weigh you down and your hopes start to decline.

If you are in the midst of health challenges that no one can figure out,
And your mind starts to wonder and your faith starts to doubt.
You are so tired of constantly being misunderstood by your fellowmen
And you wonder if you can make it through one more day over again.

If you ever feel this way, just know that your worries and cares are known
By the One who can ease your burdens so you don’t have to carry them on your own.
He will help you up your steep mountain peak when you feel weak,
And He will provide the peace and the comfort you seek.

Just lean on your Savior’s capable shoulders when you need to,
And in this race called life, He will always walk right beside you.
He will cheer you on every step of the way
Because He loves you more than you could ever say.

The Takeaway: No matter how slow our progress may seem, Jesus Christ does not ask us to walk life's path alone. He walks beside us, strengthens us when we are weary, and carries us when we cannot go on by ourselves. We do not have to be perfect today. We simply need to keep walking with Him, one step at a time.

The One Who Truly Understands

Thank you for subscribing-may these words bring a quiet moment of peace and reflection to your day.

My Daily Musings-June 2nd, 2026

I was recently reminded that Jesus Christ has all power. As humans, we sometimes doubt, especially when we are in the middle of difficult trials. We may feel alone, misunderstood, or like no one truly knows what we are going through. I’ve felt that way at times, especially with my recent health struggles.

But the beautiful truth is that we are never alone. Even when those around us don’t fully understand our challenges, the Savior does. Through His Atonement, Jesus Christ experienced every pain, sorrow, struggle, and heartache so He could perfectly understand how to help and strengthen us. He knows exactly what we are facing because He has already carried it.

How might our burdens feel different if we remembered that the Savior truly understands every detail of our struggles? What would change if we turned to Him first for the strength and healing we need?

Jesus Christ knows us perfectly. He knows our individual needs, our fears, and our hopes. And because He has all power, He also knows how to help us heal, grow, and move forward one step at a time.

Both Kinds of Days

Thank you for subscribing-may these words bring a quiet moment of peace and reflection to your day.

Backstory:
This writing was inspired by a talk by Emily Belle Freeman called Best Days and Worst Days. It made me reflect on how life is filled with both bright seasons and difficult ones. Living with chronic illness has taught me deeply what those “worst days” can feel like—days of fatigue, discouragement, unanswered questions, and wondering how to keep going. But it has also taught me to recognize the “best days” more clearly—days when strength returns, gratitude rises, and hope shines again. Through it all, I have come to know that Jesus Christ is the constant source of light in every kind of day.

Both Kinds of Days

We all have trials in this life
That can cause us unending strife.
Those like me with chronic illness
Know the sense of loneliness in the stillness.

On days when the fatigue is so bad,
That you have no choice but to feel sad.
Know that you are never alone in this journey,
Jesus will be there with you so you don’t need to worry.

If you are discouraged and the clouds are heavy over you,
Just remember that the sun always comes out to make all things new.
On your worst days, when your body is in so much pain,
Don’t give up because the rainbow comes after the rain.

Best days are possible because of your Savior, Jesus Christ
Who suffered everything and paid the ultimate price.
On your worst days when you don’t know if you can keep going,
Know that because of Him, there is hope always growing.

Jesus is there for you on your worst day
And with you, He will always stay.
When discouragement feels heavy in your heart,
Just reach out to your Savior, and from you, He will never depart.

The Takeaway: Our days may change between joy and struggle, but the Savior does not. Even on our darkest days, His light is still there—sometimes hidden behind clouds, but never gone. Because of Him, hope always rises again.

A Drop in the Ocean of Good

Thank you for subscribing-may these words bring a quiet moment of peace and reflection to your day.

My Daily Musings-April 18th, 2026

Sometimes it’s easy to feel small in a world that feels so vast—like what we do couldn’t possibly matter all that much. But I love this reminder from Mother Teresa:

“What we do is nothing but a drop in the ocean, but if we didn’t do it, the ocean would be one drop less than it is.”

Maybe the difference we make isn’t always loud or widely seen. Maybe it’s in the quiet moments—a kind word, a sincere smile, a simple act of love. Small things, offered with a willing heart.

The Savior spent His life “going about doing good,” often in ways that might have seemed small to others, but meant everything to the one. And as we follow His example in our own little corners of the world, we are making a difference—one drop at a time.

What if the good you’re doing matters more than you realize?
Who in your life might be feeling the impact of your quiet kindness today?

No matter your sphere of influence, your efforts are seen. And I believe they matter—not just here, but to your Heavenly Father too.

Hope Will Bloom Again

My Daily Musings-April 7th, 2026

There was a story shared on Music and the Spoken Word about a woman who was struggling—discouraged and unsure if things would ever get better. While I don’t remember every detail, one truth stood out clearly: because of Jesus Christ, there is always hope.

Life doesn’t always unfold the way we expect. Sometimes prayers feel unanswered, people let us down, or loved ones wander paths we never imagined for them. In those moments, it’s easy to wonder if things will ever feel right again. Have you ever found yourself quietly asking, Will this ever get better?

But just like spring follows even the longest, coldest winter, hope always returns. Flowers bloom again. Light breaks through the darkness. And because of Jesus Christ, that hope isn’t wishful thinking—it’s a promise.

Even on the days when discouragement feels heavy, we are never alone. Our Heavenly Father understands every hurt, every worry, every silent tear. Have you taken a moment to turn to Him and share what’s on your heart?

Because of Him, there is always light. There is always healing. And there is always hope—especially on the days we need it most.
