My Daily Musings-May 12th, 2026
Jeffrey R. Holland once said that “at least one aspect of the Church is more like a hospital or an aid station, provided for those who are ill and want to get well, where one can get an infusion of spiritual nutrition and a supply of sustaining water in order to keep on climbing.”
I love this image so much. Life asks a lot from us. Some weeks leave us spiritually exhausted, discouraged, or carrying burdens that feel heavier than we can manage alone. That is why I need church. My spirit longs to be nourished and strengthened.
Just as our bodies need food and water to keep moving forward, our spirits also need nourishment. We need reminders of hope, grace, truth, and God’s love so we can continue climbing the mountains placed before us.
How often do we try to keep climbing without stopping to refill spiritually? What helps your spirit feel nourished and strengthened when life feels heavy?
I am grateful for places, people, and moments that bring living water to a weary soul and help us keep going one step at a time.
