My Daily Musings-October 8th, 2026
Mother Teresa once said, “I alone cannot change the world, but I can cast a stone across the waters to create many ripples.”
Mother Teresa is one of the people best known for making a difference in the world. I think she created so many ripples in the waters of life. She made a big difference in the lives of many people. She was a Catholic nun and missionary best known for dedicating her life to serving people who were poor, sick, homeless, and dying. Mother Teresa became internationally known for her simple lifestyle and her emphasis on loving and serving one person at a time. She received the Nobel Peace Prize in 1979 for her humanitarian work.
Mother Teresa recognized that she couldn’t change the world by herself. But she gave it her all and helped so many people. We may sometimes feel that we are not making a difference in the world. But I think that as long as we are serving others and being Christlike in our daily interactions, then we are doing what we can in our sphere of influence. We most likely won’t have the big influence on the world that Mother Teresa had. But we can make a difference in our own little world.
Another great example of changing the world in a big way comes from our Savior, Jesus Christ. He really did change the world. He helped the poor, the downtrodden, and those who were despised because of their choices. But that didn’t stop Him from helping them anyway. We just need to follow His example and be kind and loving to everyone around us.
What is one small act of kindness someone has done for you that created a ripple in your life? How can you create a ripple of kindness in someone else’s life today?
