My Daily Musings-September 7th, 2026

“I have loved you as my own. And I will love you ’til the end.” This quote is from The Chosen. Jesus says this to His disciples during the Last Supper, specifically in the intimate conversation He has with them shortly before His arrest.

“Having loved his own which were in the world, he loved them unto the end.”-John 13:1

That line is recorded by John during the Last Supper. Soon after, Jesus demonstrates His love for His disciples by washing their feet. He washed their feet even though they were not perfect. He even washed Judas’s feet knowing that he would soon betray Jesus. Peter would betray Him and deny knowing Him. The rest of His disciples would scatter after His arrest. Jesus knew their weaknesses. He knew them better than anyone knew them. He still demonstrated His love for them by washing their feet.

This lesson can be applied to our lives. Jesus knows us better than anyone. He knows our weaknesses and our shortcomings. He knows when our faith wavers, when we struggle, or when we don’t understand what He is doing. He loves us despite all those things, and He will love us until the end. We can trust that His love will remain with us forever. He will abide with us forever. I love using my Word of the Year, “Abide.” He tells us many times in the New Testament that He will always abide with us. I think for me, knowing that Jesus loves me, that He will abide with me, and that He will love me until the end brings me peace and hope.
