My Daily Musings-July 31st, 2026

I heard this story from Acts 3:2-8 that really resonated with me, even though I had heard it before. Peter and John saw a man who was lame at the gate of the temple, asking alms from people who passed by. Peter told the man to look at them. So the man looked up at Peter and John expecting to receive money from them. Peter told him that he didn’t have any money for him. But he told the man, “In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, rise up and walk.” Then Peter reached down, took the man by the right hand, and lifted him up. The man’s limbs immediately gained strength and he leapt for joy and walked with them into the temple, leaping and praising God.

I think that one message we can learn from this story is that we sometimes have to look down and lift up our fellowmen. We are all here to help each other. We are all our Heavenly Father’s children and He loves each one of us very much. He wants us to help one another on our earthly journey. One way we can help each other is by giving each other hope on our hardest days and lifting each other up.

Sometimes when we have a hard day, we need someone to lift us up and we should always be ready to lift and serve others.
