More Than Our Mistakes

Thank you for subscribing-may these words bring a quiet moment of peace and reflection to your day.

My Daily Musings-June 5th, 2026

We are all human, and because of that, we all make mistakes. Sometimes we look back on things we’ve said or done and wish we had made different choices. We may even find ourselves focusing on our weaknesses and shortcomings more than we should.

But what good comes from constantly beating ourselves up? Does dwelling on our mistakes help us become better, or does it simply keep us stuck in the past?

Our Heavenly Father knew we would fall short. He knew we would make mistakes and struggle with weaknesses. That is why He lovingly provided a Savior, His Beloved Son, Jesus Christ. Through His Atonement, we can repent, be forgiven, and keep moving forward.

That’s really all we can do—seek forgiveness, learn from our mistakes, and try our hardest to become better. Heavenly Father knows our hearts and our efforts, and He loves us through every step of the journey.

Instead of letting our shortcomings weigh us down, what if we used them as opportunities to draw closer to Christ? What if, rather than focusing on how far we still have to go, we focused on taking the next step toward Him?

We don’t overcome our weaknesses on our own. We overcome them through Jesus Christ. As we turn to Him and trust in His grace, He can help us become more than we could ever become by ourselves.
