A Chance and a Choice

My Daily Musings-May 21st, 2026

“There are two things we get every day when we wake up: a chance and a choice.”

I really love this quote because it reminds me that every new day is a gift from our Heavenly Father. Each morning gives us another chance to grow, to become better, and to keep becoming the person He knows we can be. No matter what yesterday looked like, today is a fresh beginning.

We also receive a choice. Will we focus on the darkness and discouragement around us, or will we choose to look toward the light? Will we let hard moments define our day, or will we choose gratitude, kindness, faith, and hope instead?

There are many things in life we cannot control, but we can control our attitude and what we do with the time we are given. What kind of person do we want to become through our daily choices? How might our lives change if we viewed each morning as another opportunity to walk a little closer to Christ?

Every sunrise is both a chance and a choice. What we do with it matters.

  1. This is such a powerful and encouraging reminder. I love the way you highlight that every new day is both a chance and a choice from God. Truly, His light gives us hope no matter what yesterday looked like.

    • Thank you so much! It really is a daily practice, isn’t it? Choosing His light even when yesterday felt heavy or unfinished. I love how deeply you connected with that thought. How do you find yourself choosing His hope on the days that feel a bit harder to navigate?

  2. I’m so grateful for everyone spending time with this post today! It really got me thinking about how the daily choices we face are often beautiful chances in disguise. To my subscribers: I’d love to hear your thoughts! What is one small choice you’ve made recently that you’re grateful for?
