My Daily Musings-March 19th, 2026

Loving others as ourselves sounds simple, but it quietly asks something deeper: Do we truly love ourselves the way God loves us?

For a long time, I’ve been trying to learn what that kind of love looks like. It isn’t ignoring our weaknesses or pretending we don’t see the things we wish we could change. It’s choosing to see ourselves the way our Heavenly Father sees us—through eyes of patience, compassion, and unwavering love.

When He looks at us, He doesn’t focus on our flaws. He sees who we are, and who we are becoming. He loves us as we are, while gently inviting us to grow into something more.

What would change if, instead of criticizing ourselves, we looked in the mirror and simply smiled?
What if we remembered, in that moment, that we are a beloved son or daughter of God?

There is something healing in that truth.

As we learn to accept His love for us, it becomes easier to extend that same love outward. Maybe loving others more fully begins here—with seeing ourselves the way He does.
