The Perfect Circle of Love

Backstory:
While listening to the audiobook Where the Blue Sky Begins by Katie Powner, I was touched by the story of Eunice, a terminally ill woman who creates a list of people she wants to ask for forgiveness before she dies. Her journey reminded me of the importance of our earthly relationships, but it also pointed me toward a greater truth: our relationship with Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ matters most. I believe God gave us relationships with family and friends to help turn our hearts toward Him. As we learn to love Him more and receive His perfect love, we become more like Him and learn to love others more deeply. It becomes a perfect circle of love—His love flows to us, through us, and back to Him.

The Perfect Circle of Love

Our Heavenly Father sent us to this earth
So that we can discover our Divine worth.
We are His children and He loves us very much,
And anytime we need it, we can feel His loving touch.

He showers down His grace and blessings from above,
And gave us families so we can learn to love.
He sends us friends, angels in this life
So that we won’t feel so much strife.

As we draw closer to our Father up in Heaven,
His peace and grace are freely, deeply given.
Our Father showed us His love by sending us the One
Who sacrificed His life for us as the Beloved Son.

As we draw closer to Jesus, our Savior,
His grace begins to refine our behavior.
We will see others through a more Heavenly View
As we go about serving those around us as our Savior would do.

As we draw closer to Their Holy light,
They guide our steps and turn our weakness into might.
As we grow like Them, we love our fellowmen,
And serving others brings Their love back down again.

The Takeaway: The greatest relationship we can build is our relationship with Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ. As we abide in Their love and allow Them to change our hearts, every other relationship in our lives can be strengthened. The more we receive Their perfect love, the more we are able to share that love with others. Love begins with God, flows through us, and returns us back to Him.

⚓ Community Conversations: Who Is Your Anchor?

Thank you for subscribing-may these words bring a quiet moment of peace and reflection to your day.

When I wrote my poem, The Anchor of My Soul, I was reflecting on how we aren’t meant to weather life’s storms alone. God gives us beautiful people to hold onto here on earth, and for me, one of my greatest earthly anchors has always been my Mom.

Her support has been a constant thread throughout my life. I remember so clearly when I was a teenager, she would drive me to my voice lessons and pay for them. When we got home, she’d gently prompt me to practice—even when I didn’t want to! Because she plays the piano beautifully, she would accompany me while I practiced. Singing while she played the piano is still one of my absolute favorite memories.

Now that I’m in my 40s, that anchor has only grown stronger. We talk a couple of times a week, and I still get so excited every time we speak. She is the person I can talk to about absolutely anything. I know she will just listen and love me no matter what, without a single shred of judgment. To me, that is exactly what an anchor person is: a safe harbor when the waves get high.

Every Day Is a Special Occasion

My Daily Musings-May 31st, 2026

“Don’t save something for a special occasion. Every day of your life is a special occasion.” — Thomas S. Monson

I think as humans we often wait for some future moment before we allow ourselves to fully appreciate life. We tell ourselves, I’ll be happier when this changes or I’ll be more grateful once things get easier. But life is happening right now, in this very moment.

President Thomas S. Monson’s quote reminds me that every single day is a gift from God. Every sunrise, every quiet moment, every small blessing is reason enough to be grateful. Even in the middle of difficult trials, there is still goodness to notice and blessings to count.

What if we stopped waiting for life to become perfect before choosing gratitude? What if the “special occasion” is simply the fact that we are here today?

I have learned through my own experiences that constantly wishing for things to get better can sometimes keep us from seeing the beauty and blessings already surrounding us. Gratitude does not mean life is easy; it means we recognize that God is still good in the middle of hard things.

Every day we are given is sacred. Every moment matters. And perhaps the happiest hearts are the ones that learn to cherish ordinary days as extraordinary gifts.

The “Day After” Tender Holidays

Community Conversations

This past weekend, I shared some reflections on the “quiet things” we often carry during holidays like Mother’s Day—the mix of deep gratitude for the women in our lives and the private sorrows that sometimes sit right alongside it.

Now that the holiday has passed and the world has moved on to the next thing, I’m still thinking about that “messy middle”—the space where we feel grateful and grieving at the same time.

I’d love to hear from you in our Community Conversation today: How do you continue to find peace once the “big days” are over? Is there a specific way you mother the hearts of those around you, even when your own heart feels a little tender?

Let’s walk together in the comments. Your story and your “unseen offerings of love” matter so much here.
