“Hate is a thief that will steal everything and return nothing if you let it.” — Lisa Wingate, Shelterwood
What a powerful reminder. When we allow anger, resentment, or bitterness to settle in our hearts, those feelings slowly take more from us than we realize. They steal our peace, our joy, and sometimes even our ability to see the good in others.
Hate promises satisfaction, but it always leaves us emptier than before.
But the opposite is also true. When we choose kindness, patience, and love toward the people around us, something beautiful happens. Love multiplies what hate tries to steal. It fills our hearts with peace and reminds us that we are all children of a loving Heavenly Father.
The Savior taught us to love one another—not because it is always easy, but because it is the path that leads to true happiness.
Is there something in your heart today that needs to be let go?
What might change if you chose love instead?
Sometimes the greatest freedom comes when we release what was never meant to stay in our hearts in the first place.
