Closer Than We Think

My Daily Musings-Feb.21st, 2026

Some people imagine Heavenly Father as distant—far above us, ruling from the heavens with little personal connection to His children. But that hasn’t been my experience.

Through the trials of my life, I have learned to rely on Him—especially through prayer. In my hardest moments, when words felt heavy and tears came easily, I have knelt down and felt something unmistakable: His presence. Not far away. Not detached. But near. Close enough to steady my heart.

When I pray, I feel as though He is right there in the room. I feel His guidance in quiet impressions. I see His hand in the details of my days. I know He is there—more surely than I know many things I can see.

There are moments when I wish I could see Him with my eyes, embrace Him, and speak to Him face to face. But then I remember—if I could see Him, I wouldn’t need faith. And faith is what draws me closer to Him now.

He is not distant. He is near. The question is—are we turning toward Him?

When was the last time you truly felt His presence in your life?
What might change if you spoke to Him today as a loving Father who is already close?

He is nearer than we think. Sometimes all it takes is a prayer to remember.
