My Daily Musings-Jan.25th, 2026

I’ve always been fascinated by the changing of the seasons, especially the slow shift from winter to spring.

Winter is hard on my body because of my autoimmune disease. Living in a cold northern Utah climate, I sometimes feel the weight of it not just physically, but spiritually too. Cold, gray days can make it harder to keep my thoughts hopeful and my heart light.

But spring has always spoken to my soul.

There is something deeply comforting about watching life return—buds forming, flowers pushing through soil that looked lifeless just weeks before. What was dormant wasn’t dead. It was simply waiting.

When spring arrives, I feel it inside me too. The promise of new life reminds me that winter doesn’t last forever. Even when it feels endless, change is already on its way.

Because of the atoning sacrifice of my Savior, Jesus Christ, I know the same is true in my life. There is always hope. There is always something to look forward to. And because of Him, there is always a spring coming—even after the longest winter.

Here are a couple questions to ask yourself: What “winter season” are you currently walking through, and what helps you remember it won’t last forever? Where do you see small signs of “spring” or hope in your life right now, even if they are just beginning?
