Loving Like Jesus

Thank you for subscribing-may these words bring a quiet moment of peace and reflection to your day.

My Daily Musings-Feb.8th, 2026

Lately, as I scroll through social media, I see so many friendships strained—or even broken—over political opinions, religious views, or differences in how we see the world. People arguing, drawing lines, and deciding who is “worthy” of connection based on agreement.

It makes me wonder: Why is loving one another so hard?

We are all different. We were created that way. Different backgrounds, beliefs, experiences, and perspectives. Yet Jesus didn’t place conditions on love. He simply said,
“As I have loved you, love one another.” (John 13:34)

Jesus and our Heavenly Father love each of us unconditionally. They love us despite our flaws, our misunderstandings, and our differences. Agreement has never been a requirement for Their love—only compassion.

So why do we make it one?

Do we really have to think the same, vote the same, or believe the same way to be kind, respectful, and loving? Can’t we choose connection over division, and charity over contention?

Maybe loving one another doesn’t mean agreeing on everything. Maybe it simply means seeing each other as fellow children of God—worthy of dignity, kindness, and grace.

Here are a couple questions to ponder: Where might I be allowing differences to create distance instead of compassion? How can I better follow Christ’s example by choosing love first, even when I disagree?

Reaching the Shore Together

My Daily Musings-Feb.7th, 2026

“Help thy brother’s boat across, and lo, thine own has reached the shore.”

This line has stayed with me. It quietly reminds me that life isn’t meant to be navigated alone. We often focus so intently on getting ourselves safely to shore—through our worries, trials, and uncertainties—that we forget how deeply connected our journeys truly are.

There are seasons when our own boat feels heavy, the waters rough, and the shore far away. Yet, when we pause long enough to notice someone else struggling nearby and choose to help—through a kind word, a listening ear, or a simple act of service—something sacred happens. Without realizing it, our own boat begins to move forward too.

Helping another doesn’t delay our progress. It refines our hearts, shifts our perspective, and invites Heavenly Father’s grace into our lives in quiet but powerful ways. Often, the very peace we are seeking arrives while we are busy lifting someone else.

Here are a couple questions to ask yourself: Who might be struggling nearby that I can help right now, even in a small way? How has serving or supporting others helped me feel closer to peace or the “shore” in my own life?

The Friend Who Never Leaves

Thank you for subscribing-may these words bring a quiet moment of peace and reflection to your day.

My Daily Musings-Feb.6th, 2026

Friendship has been a constant thread throughout my life, even when everything else felt like it was changing. Growing up, we moved often. As an adult, my married life has brought moves too. Each change came with goodbyes that were hard—but also with new friendships that shaped who I was becoming.

Looking back, I can see the Lord’s hand in every place we lived. We were led where we needed to be because of the people we needed to meet and the experiences we needed to have. Every friend mattered. Every season mattered.

Jesus once said, “Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends. Ye are my friends…” (John 15:13–14). What makes those words so powerful is that He spoke them before He laid down His life for each one of us. He knew what He would do—and He still called us His friends.

If you ever feel alone, remember this: Jesus is the best friend you will ever have. He knows your heart. He understands your pain. He knows exactly how to help you heal from your trials and move forward. If He calls us His friends, how blessed we truly are. We are never alone—because He is always there.

Here are a couple questions to ask yourself: How has the Lord used friendships in different seasons of my life to help shape who I am today? What does it mean to me personally that Jesus calls me His friend?

The Secret of Looking Up

Thank you for subscribing-may these words bring a quiet moment of peace and reflection to your day.

Backstory:
I came across a simple quote from Snoopy that said, “Keep looking up…That’s the secret of life.” At first, it made me smile. But the more I sat with it, the more deeply it spoke to my heart. Life is hard for everyone. Each of us carries burdens that aren’t always visible to others. Some days the weight feels manageable, and other days it feels almost unbearable. There are moments when fear, grief, exhaustion, or uncertainty press so heavily on us that we wonder how we can take another step forward. This quote reminded me that the secret to enduring those moments isn’t found in our own strength-but in where we choose to look. When we lift our eyes and hearts toward our Heavenly Father, we remember that we were never meant to carry life’s challenges alone.

The Secret of Looking Up

Life sometimes feels heavy, a burdening weight,
Our spirits grow weary, resigned to our fate.
What should we do when the trials start to take hold?
Look up to our Father, let His mercy unfold.

It’s ok to feel weary and down for a while,
When mountains feel steep and we’ve lost every smile.
But we must not remain in that dark, lonely place,
For walking alone leaves us short on His grace.

When we look to the heavens and step back from the fray,
Our Father is there to help light our way.
When the path is uncertain and you’ve nowhere to go,
Look up for the guidance only He can bestow.

When prayers go unanswered and heaven seems still,
Look up for the strength to bow to His will.
When fear whispers loud and your faith starts to sway,
Look up, and the shadows will all fade away.

When you’re waiting and waiting for seasons to change,
Look up and find peace in His love’s endless range.
When you’ve given your all and you still feel small,
Look up—He is ready to catch every fall.

The Takeaway: Looking up doesn’t remove our trials, but it changes how we face them. When we turn to our Heavenly Father, we invite His strength, His peace, and His guidance into our lives. He is aware of our struggles and present in our pain, even when answers don’t come right away. When the burdens feel too heavy, when the climb feels too steep, we can look up and trust that He is near, ready to help us through.

Trusting God Through Life’s Changes

My Daily Musings-Feb.5th, 2026

Change is a constant part of life. Things around us are always shifting—sometimes in ways we expect, and often in ways we don’t. When change comes without warning or beyond our control, it can bring stress, anxiety, and uncertainty about what lies ahead.

Yet change, even when uncomfortable, is part of our mortal journey. If we allow every unexpected turn to overwhelm us, it can slowly steal our peace and joy. Life may not be predictable, but it is designed to help us grow in faith and trust.

One thing that never changes is the love of our Heavenly Father. His love is steady and sure. He knows each of us personally and has a plan for our lives that is far greater than anything we could create on our own.

When change feels heavy, we can turn to Him. Through prayer and trust in His timing, we can find comfort and peace—even when everything around us seems to be changing.

Here are a couple questions to ask yourself when life is changing: What changes in my life are causing me stress or uncertainty right now? How can I invite Heavenly Father into these changes and trust Him more fully?
