Choosing Gratitude at Night

My Daily Musings-Feb.11th, 2026

Lately, I’ve been working on improving my prayers. Not by making them longer or more polished—but by making them more intentional.

A while ago, I decided to say one prayer each day that was focused only on gratitude. No requests. No worries. Just thanking my Heavenly Father for the blessings in my life.

Recently, my mom and I were talking about this, and she shared that she says her prayer of gratitude right before going to sleep. She said it helps her end the day feeling happy and grateful instead of replaying stress or worries in her mind.

I decided to try the same thing.

Now, each night before I go to sleep, I offer a prayer of gratitude. I’ve noticed that it softens my heart, quiets my thoughts, and helps me rest with more peace. Ending the day by recognizing God’s goodness—even in small things—has changed the way I fall asleep.

Prayer doesn’t have to be complicated. Sometimes, simply saying “thank You” is enough to bring us closer to Heaven.

Reflection Questions:

  • What blessings could you thank Heavenly Father for tonight, even if the day felt hard?
  • How might ending your day with a prayer of gratitude change the way you feel before you sleep?

Painted in Love

Backstory:
One day I was reflecting on the colors God has placed in our world—from the rainbow to the beautiful diversity of His children. As I thought about the joy and intention behind creation, I began to wonder how the God of the universe could also be mindful of me. I don’t fully understand how His love can be so vast and yet so personal, but I have felt it—steadily and right when I need it most.

Painted in Love

This world was created by our Father’s hand
From the colorful sunrises and sunsets to the beautiful rainbows in this land.
We can feel our Father’s love through His creations on this earth
And by doing so we can discover our Divine worth.

We were all created by our Father above
A tapestry of colors, all held in His love.
Though we are unique in our own different ways,
He walks beside us through all of our days.

I don’t know how He made such wonders and beauties
Amidst all His other Fatherly duties.
In a world of such vast and amazing design,
How can He care for this life of mine?

I will never comprehend in all His creations that He can see,
How He reaches down His loving hand to me.
When I reach out to Him in prayer
I can feel that He is instantly there.

But when I feel darkness creep into my heart,
He helps me to make a fresh, holy start.
I don't need to know why He first loved me,
In order to finally see.

The Takeaway: God’s love is not limited or divided. The same Heavenly Father who created the beauty and diversity around us knows each of us personally. Even when we feel small or unworthy of notice, His love is present and immediate. We may not fully comprehend how He does it—but we can trust that He does.

Anchored Through Change

My Daily Musings-Feb.10th, 2026

Life doesn’t always change the way we want it to. Sometimes it changes our bodies, our plans, or the path we thought we were walking. I know this personally. Living with an autoimmune disease has taught me that some days are simply harder than others. On those days, it’s easy to miss who I used to be and the life I once imagined.

But one thing my trials have taught me is this: I am never alone. I can always turn to my Heavenly Father in prayer. Prayer has become an anchor for my faith—a quiet place where I can rest my worries, my grief, and my hope. I don’t always get answers right away, but I trust that He is there, listening, loving, and walking with me.

No matter how much life changes, God’s love does not. It is constant. And sometimes, that is enough to carry me through the uncertainty.

Reflection Questions:

  • What changes in my life feel the hardest right now, and why?
  • How can I lean more fully on prayer or faith as an anchor during uncertain seasons?

Grace Beyond Our Past

My Daily Musings-Feb.9th, 2026

Listening to the fourth Dragonwatch book by Brandon Mull, I was struck by a moment that felt unexpectedly profound. One of the main characters loses all his memories—his past, his identity, everything that made him him. In that state, he believes he’s doing his best. He moves forward the only way he knows how.

But when his memories return, so does the weight of his past mistakes. Suddenly, he remembers the poor choices, the failures, the moments he wishes he could undo. Instead of relief, he feels discouraged and depressed. He begins to judge himself harshly for who he once was.

That moment made me pause.

How often do we do the same thing?

We look back at our past selves with knowledge we didn’t have at the time and condemn ourselves for not knowing better, for not being better. We replay old mistakes and allow them to steal today’s peace. But the truth is, we were doing the best we could with what we knew then.

Because of Jesus Christ, our mistakes do not have to define us. Through His Atonement, repentance is real, healing is possible, and change is lasting. Our past can teach us—but it does not have to imprison us.

Jesus doesn’t ask us to punish ourselves forever. He invites us to repent, to forgive, and to move forward. He makes it possible for us to become new, even when we remember who we used to be.

Today, we can choose peace over shame. Growth over regret. Grace over self-condemnation.

Reflection Questions:

  • Am I holding onto past mistakes that Jesus has already offered to heal and forgive?
  • What would it look like for me to forgive myself and move forward with greater compassion today?

Agreement Is Not a Requirement For Love

Thank you for subscribing-may these words bring a quiet moment of peace and reflection to your day.

Lately, I’ve been noticing how quickly we draw lines in the sand. It feels like the world tells us we can only be kind to those who think, vote, or believe exactly like we do.

But Jesus didn’t make agreement a condition for His love—He made compassion the priority (John 13:34). I’m striving to make my website a space where connection matters more than contention. I’ve even updated my categories to reflect this mission of grace.
