Backstory:
A story I heard recently posed a question that I couldn’t stop thinking about. A woman said she had been asked to come back to church after many years away from church. She could not think of any reason why she should go back. To encourage her, a man asked her, “When you consider all of the things the Savior has done for us, don’t you have many reasons to come back to church to worship and serve Him?” The man was astonished at her reply, “What’s He done for me?” After hearing this story, I asked myself, “What has Jesus done for me and for each one of us?”
What Jesus Has Done in My Life
Jesus, our Savior came to this earth
And was born of humble circumstances even though He was of great worth.
He was meant to be the Savior for all of us,
And this topic we need to discuss.
He was always so kind, compassionate and loving to everyone
And He was a friend to anyone.
He always went about doing good
And everyone He met, their struggles He understood.
He was never selfish but He always did the will of His Father in Heaven,
And He always forgave everyone, even seventy times seven.
He healed and served everyone around Him,
And because of His healing touch, their lives didn’t seem so grim.
He knew that He would sacrifice Himself but He did it anyway,
And His love for each one of us is more than we could ever say.
He suffered for us in the Garden of Gethsemane,
And He felt all of our pains, mistakes and anything we feel so we could be free.
He died on the cross and was resurrected on the third day
So that we could return to our Heavenly Home because He paved the way.
I could never write all of my tender and emotional feelings of love for my Savior,
For He is my truest and best friend and because of Him, I can change my behavior.
The Takeaway: Our Savior, Jesus Christ was the perfect example for each one of us. He suffered for our pains, sicknesses and anything we feel in this life. He felt it all and He finished His work on the earth. He died and was resurrected so that we could have a chance to return to our Heavenly Father after this life. Jesus is always there for us when we need a friend. He will stand by us anytime we need Him. We just need to trust that He will be there.
