“Why did life always have to roll relentlessly forward? Why was every victory or defeat followed by new worries and new problems?”
Fablehaven, Book 3

Life rarely gives us a long pause. Even after moments of joy or relief, new challenges seem to appear. That can feel exhausting—especially when we are already weary.

Life isn’t meant to be easy. That is how our Heavenly Father designed His plan for this life. Growth, learning, and becoming often come through experiences that stretch us beyond what feels comfortable. We may wonder why trials keep coming, or why answers don’t come sooner.

The Bible offers reassurance when life feels relentless:

“And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.”
Romans 8:28

When we are in the midst of big trials, it can be hard to believe that promise. Faith, in those moments, is choosing to trust that God is still working—even when we can’t yet see how. One day, what feels confusing now may become something sacred we understand more clearly.

Until then, we keep moving forward, trusting that God walks with us through every victory, every defeat, and every unanswered question.

Here are a couple questions to ask yourself: What current challenge is inviting me to trust God’s purpose more deeply? How have past trials eventually worked for good in my life, even if I couldn’t see it at the time?
