Backstory:
I really like the story of a Hasidic rabbi in the 1700’s named Zusya. We can learn a lot from his story. We are here on this earth to help each other. One way we can do that is by helping each other develop and recognize our God-given talents and abilities.

Trembling in His Presence

There once was a religious man named Zusya,
He was nearing the end of his life and his spirit felt very raw.
He was trembling
And a friend asked him why because his demeanor was unsettling.

He said that after he passed away
He could imagine that God would stand before him and he would say,
“Zusya, why were you not another Moses?”
He would answer that he wasn’t granted that soul of greatness.

Then God would ask him, “Why were you not another Solomon?”
He would answer that he didn’t rival Solomon in wisdom.
Then God would ask him, “Why were you not Zusya or who I gave you the capacity to become?”
And that was where his trembling spirit had come from.

The moral to this story is that God expects us to magnify our talents
Like they are from Him our precious presents.
They are gifts from our Loving Father to us as His children,
He will help us discover who we are supposed to be if we will just listen.

So we shouldn’t compare ourselves with others,
For we are all spirit sisters and brothers.
We are all so different and unique
So that we can be stronger together in our specific techniques.

The Takeaway: We shouldn’t compare ourselves to other people. We are all children of God. We are given unique talents and abilities that complement one another. They all come from our Loving Father so that we can develop them and help each other. We can pray to Him and He will let us know who He wants us to become.
