Backstory:
I like to listen to audiobooks and podcasts about people who have gone through hard things and how they made it through. I like to hear about their resilience. I especially like to read about people who put their faith and trust in God and how they are brought through their afflictions with God and Jesus by their side. Reading about their stories helps me on my journey and helps me to be reminded that I’m not alone in my trials. I have been listening to a book series (The Moses Chronicles by H.B.Moore). I have always been intrigued by Moses’ story. It’s amazing to me how God called him to be a prophet and to lead his people out of Egypt. I probably would have doubted that call if I had been Moses. I’m sure Moses had doubts but he followed God’s call anyway and he did what God needed him to. I think we can all learn from Moses’ story.

A Daily Walk with God

There once was a man named Moses,
He was living in a palace in Egypt and he was catching everyone’s notice.
But Moses left that life behind because he needed a different focus,
So he journeyed for a long time and for a while his life seemed kind of hopeless.

He finally found a family to stay with and he felt like his life had a new purpose,
God had other plans for him than just being a shepherd for he needed to be in God’s service.
Moses was called to free the Hebrew people and that probably made him a little nervous
But God decided Moses needed to do this even though it might have felt like throwing him into a fiery furnace.

At the time, the Hebrew people were slaves for the Egyptian people,
And the Egyptians didn’t think the Hebrews were their equal.
Moses went to the Pharaoh and that probably made him a little fearful,
And he asked the Pharaoh to let the Hebrew people go free which caused a great upheaval.

So God sent plagues or punishments to the Egyptians to show them His power,
They didn’t listen to God so he just kept getting louder and louder.
Eventually after many plagues Pharaoh let the Hebrews go free but not without a glower,
So the Hebrews left but they still had to trust in God to help them every hour.

Moses saw the power of God when he put his staff into the Red Sea and he parted the water,
The Pharaoh and his army were chasing them and I’m sure he was concerned about his daughter.
If God had not been with the Hebrews then there could have been an awful slaughter,
But Moses and his people trusted in God and they were made stronger.

The Takeaway: We can learn a lot from Moses’ story. He trusted in his Heavenly Father even when he didn’t know what the outcome would be. We should learn to trust just like He did. Our Father has a plan for each of us in our lives and He will guide us to know what we should do.
