Backstory:
I had a rough week with my health this last week. Having an autoimmune disease can be rough sometimes because of the weather, if I do too much or other factors that I don’t even know about. So I had a week when my symptoms were worse and I had to rest more than normal and cancel a couple appointments. But I made it through and it’s nice to be feeling a little better. I have realized that I just need to rest my body sometimes or I will keep feeling awful. So, how did I make it through this last week? I think because I have a strong belief that I am never alone and that I can pray to my Father in Heaven for help.

Father, I Long For You

Father, I believe you are there for me,
Your influences in my life I can clearly see,
But some days are so rough that I just want to flee,
Some days the only way I can get through is to You being my constant plea.

Why do I have days like this when I doubt your existence?
Why can’t I just see that you are never very far in the distance?
Well, I’m human and I forget when I put up some resistance,
Please stay with me always and please give me your assistance.

Some days when it is hard to get our bed,
When I feel like my weight is too heavy to spread,
I have days when I feel like my patience is on the last thread,
Those are the days I need you the most so that my Spirit can feel fed.

But somehow I forget that you are always there,
And for me you will always care,
You know me so well that you can count on my head every hair,
But sometimes I feel like my life is so rough and it’s just not fair.

All I need to do is turn to you,
You will be there in a split second once I change my view,
I just need to pray and you will help see me through,
With You by my side, Father we can more than anything do.

The Takeaway: We all have days when life is rough and we sometimes forget that our Heavenly Father is there so that we won’t feel alone. On those days, we need His help the most. He is always there for us, we just need to turn to Him in prayer.
