Backstory:
I pondered as I showered this morning. I was grateful for the nice warm water that washed away dirt, sweat and anything else. I thought of the body wash that helped to wash away all that filth as well. And I loved that because of the shower, I could feel clean again on the outside of my body. Then the thought occurred to me that Jesus could be compared to be the Master Cleanser. When we feel filthy or unclean in spirit, only Jesus Christ, our Savior, can help us feel clean again. Because of His Love for us we can feel clean on the inside and outside.

Washed by Grace

When our Father sent us to this earth,
He knew that we were of great worth.
He also knew that we would fall short at times,
So He provided a Savior to wash away all the filthiness of this world’s crimes.

Some days we might feel like we can’t do anything right,
For we are so human that it might just give us a fright.
We try so hard to make our Father proud
But we fall short so often because we might want to just be part of the crowd.

When we feel like we are filthy,
And because of our many shortcomings we start to feel guilty.
When we feel like we just need a break
From the filthiness inside of us, for Heaven’s sake.

Just imagine that the love of our Beloved Savior and Redeemer,
Can help us feel better about our very demeanor.
His beautiful Love can help cleanse our very nature,
And to put on His cleanser in our heart can keep us from danger.

So, if you feel like you will never be clean again,
Just remember that Jesus will never you condemn.
He loves you so much that He suffered so that you don’t have to,
And this knowledge should help you feel better when you are feeling blue.

The Takeaway: Our Heavenly Father knew that we would never be perfect. He knew that we would make mistakes while on this earth. That’s why He provided a Savior and Redeemer in His Beloved Son. With the cleansing gift of Jesus Atonement, when we feel filthy inside, we can feel clean again. This is brought to us because of His Amazing Love for Us!

My Daily Musings-Jan.28th, 2026

When people are asked about the most important day in history, many point to remarkable human achievements—moments that changed the world in visible ways. But there is one night that stands above them all.

Nearly 2,000 years ago, in the quiet darkness of the Garden of Gethsemane, Jesus Christ knelt in prayer and offered Himself as a ransom for our sins. In that sacred moment, He willingly took upon Himself suffering beyond our full comprehension—suffering in both body and spirit. Out of perfect love, He gave all so that we might receive all.

This was not a moment of applause or earthly recognition. It was a moment of surrender. A moment where divine love was poured out completely, even to the point of bleeding for us. Because of what happened in that garden, there is hope—for forgiveness, for healing, for change, and for returning home to God.

Without Christ’s suffering and sacrifice, there would be no path forward for us. No redemption. No true hope of becoming better than we are on our own. Gethsemane reminds us that we are never alone in our weakness and never beyond the reach of grace.

It calls us to remember the immeasurable debt of gratitude we owe the Savior—and the depth of His love for each of us, personally.

Here are a couple questions to ask yourself: What does Christ’s suffering in Gethsemane teach me about His love for me? How does remembering this moment change the way I face my own struggles and weaknesses today?

Backstory:
I have always loved to read, ever since I was a child. One of my favorite book series is The Chronicles of Narnia by C.S. Lewis. My therapist and I were talking about how sad it must have been when the land of Narnia was run by the evil White Witch because there was an eternal winter with no hope of Christmas or spring. I personally don’t like winter. After Christmas is over, I just want it to be spring. So imagining a world with an eternal winter wouldn’t be my ideal world. My therapist asked me, “What is your White Witch? What are some things in your life that prevent you from being happy and having hope?” I thought that was a really good question and I pondered it. I asked my close family members and a few friends what they thought about it. In the Narnia books, one of my favorite characters is a big lovable lion named Aslan. When he comes on the scene after years of the reign of the White Witch over the land, there is hope, the winter starts to melt, Santa Claus comes back and their world is so much better. In this world as a Christian, I know that because of my Savior, Jesus Christ there is always hope.

Unlikely Protectors

I have realized recently that there are things in my life that get in my way of me being happy and feeling hope,
At times, I get in my own way with my attitude about my life and it makes it harder for me to cope.
Then, evil influences get in my head and then I feel like I’m at the end of my rope,
But I just need to remember that my Savior is always there to wash away my sins and tears like when I wash my hands with soap.

Another thing is the negativity and chaos in this world that I hear about constantly in the news,
If I am not careful I could get wrapped up in all of that negativity and feel like I have the blues.
I just try to block it out of my head or else with those negative influences I would lose,
I try to notice the beautiful and tender mercies all around me, for what is in my head I get to choose.

Then I get overwhelmed by my weaknesses and they seem to weigh me down,
And the weight feels so heavy that inside I feel like I might drown.
But if I let the weight get to me too much than I could do is frown,
And I just need to remember that my Savior suffered it all for me and He wears a crown.

Then there are times when I get overwhelmed by the weight of the struggles of my friends and family,
Everyone is going through something and if I’m not careful I can get caught up in that weight and go through my day very anxiously.
The best thing that I can do most of the time is to just let my loved ones know that I am there for them so that they can go through life happily,
So yes, there are many things that get in the way of me going through life more hopefully.

But when I feel like I’m living in a world with no hope like when the White Witch ruled the land,
I need to remember that Aslan or my Savior will always come to hold my hand.
He will help me make my life better than I could have ever planned,
Because He suffered everything that I will ever suffer, He can help me through my life and He will be there at my command.

The Takeaway: Sometimes we might feel like there isn’t any hope in the world or in our own lives. When we feel like this we just need to remember that we are never alone. Our Savior, Jesus Christ, is always there for us. He has gone through everything we go through and only He can help us heal. He can be our hope when we feel like there is no hope.

Backstory:
I was talking to my therapist one day. She asked me how my childhood was and what kind of a child I was back then. So I thought back to that time and I was a very stubborn and strong willed child. I really didn’t like losing in board games, I would throw a tantrum when I lost in a game. I was a very competitive child. I also threw tantrums at other times when I didn’t get my way or when I had to do things that I didn’t want to do. Most of the time now I think I have overcome those things but there is always more work in my character that I need to develop and overcome. So thinking about this made me think about a caterpillar turning into a butterfly. A caterpillar just naturally turns into a butterfly, it doesn’t get a choice. But it is our choice if we want to change and become better. We have to want to change. But there is always a loving Father above who is always there to help us to change.

Becoming What God Intended

I was thinking the other day of the person I used to be as a child and a teen,
I had a great childhood but I have grown as a person in the time in between.
Because I have lived for many years I can see the differences that to other people might be unseen,
But in my day to day life I try to become a better person in my daily routine.

I have heard some people say that they are the way they are and they can’t change that,
But that to me doesn’t sound right and it really seems flat.
I believe that we are here on this earth to change and we don’t have to keep being a brat,
So let’s sit down together for a few moments and about this chat.

These thoughts in my head made me think of a caterpillar becoming a butterfly,
A caterpillar starts its life as a nice looking bug but it doesn’t stay like that and this we can’t deny.
It doesn’t really choose to change the way it is but it must change and comply,
But we know it will become a better version of itself and to its former self it can say goodbye.

So we are humans on this earth and we are supposed to change and grow,
This is a lifelong journey as in life we are tossed to and fro.
In this life we will never be perfect and this we know,
It will probably take our entire lives to become a beautiful butterfly and the process might seem slow.

But we always have support from up above to help us on our journey,
Even though we might get frustrated with ourselves and our figurative vision might seem a little blurry.
But even though this process is slow we don’t need to worry,
For our Heavenly Cheerleader is always there whenever we need mercy.

The Takeaway: We are here on this earth to change and improve. We aren’t supposed to stay the way we are. Change can be difficult. But we need to remember that our Heavenly Father is always there to help us improve and change. And with His help, we can do anything.

Backstory:
I think as a woman I care too much sometimes about what other people think of me. When I was a teenager I felt like because I wasn’t in with the popular crowd and I wasn’t what the world would call beautiful that some people thought I wasn’t good enough. And in this modern world in magazines and in the secular culture outward beauty is too important. So sometimes I just have to tell myself that it doesn’t really matter what other people think of me and their perception of me doesn’t matter. I am always enough to my Heavenly Father so it doesn’t matter what other people think of me.

When It Feels Like No One Cares

I think most of us as humans care about and worry about what others think of us,
But most of the time about this subject I try not to make a fuss.
Not worrying about it can definitely be a plus,
But this is a subject that we should sometimes discuss.

I have tried over the years to not compare myself to other people,
Because sometimes I feel like to other women I will never be equal.
But dwelling on this does not make me feel peaceful,
And it can at times make me feel fearful.

In the eyes of the world I will never be enough,
But not thinking about this can at times be tough.
Sometimes all that matters to the world is getting more stuff,
And feeling like I need to keep up sometimes is rough.

Then I also think that I never really know what someone is going through,
And someone’s life might seem easy from my point of view.
But we all have our problems and things we have to do,
And the view from my lens might be untrue.

So I try to not focus on this and just focus on what my Heavenly Father thinks of me,
Who cares what other people think of me for that really doesn’t matter and on this I think we can all agree.
For in my Father’s eyes I don’t have to prove myself and that is a guarantee,
He will always love me no matter what and remembering that is definitely the key.

The Takeaway: We all get caught up sometimes in what others think about us. But it doesn't really matter what others think of us. It only matters what God thinks of us and He loves us so much because He created us. This knowledge could be life-changing for each of us.
