The Lesson of the Lilies

Backstory:
While reflecting on the Savior’s words, “Consider the lilies of the field,” I began to think about how deeply nature testifies of God’s love. A wildflower growing quietly in a meadow may seem small or unnoticed to the world, yet Heavenly Father sees it, clothes it in beauty, and gives it purpose. If He notices the lilies, how much more does He notice His children? This writing grew from my love of finding God in nature and from the reminder that we do not need to prove our worth or compare ourselves with others. Like the lilies, we were created with divine purpose, and our value has always existed because we are beloved children of God.

The Lesson of the Lilies

When you take a walk in nature you can see the beauties of this earth
And then maybe you can see yourself for your Divine Worth.
We can learn a lot looking at the wildflowers in a meadow,
They just bloom and grow in the sun’s warm, gentle glow.

They don’t worry about what other flowers think of them,
They just open up their buds and grow from their stem.
We shouldn’t be concerned what others think of us,
Instead we look toward the Savior, in whom we place our trust.

Flowers are beautiful just the way they are,
Brightening the meadow like a tiny, radiant star.
We don’t need to prove our worth to anyone
For we are deeply loved by the Father and the Son.

Flowers bloom where they are planted one season at a time
They don’t worry about tomorrow but they enjoy their prime.
We should enjoy every moment of every day
And trust Him to guide and light our way.

Our Loving Heavenly Father created this world for us to enjoy
Designed in His perfect love so we might have true joy.
We should trust in His plan for our lives while on this earth
And if we see through His Heavenly Lens then we can know our Divine Worth.

The Takeaway: The lilies teach us to trust the Creator who knows us completely. We do not need to spend our lives comparing, striving to prove our worth, or fearing tomorrow. Heavenly Father already sees, knows, and loves us. Like the flowers of the field, we can grow where we are planted, bask in His light, and trust that we are precious in His sight.

The Beauty of Every Note

Backstory:
I have always loved music, especially the piano. I recently read this quote by Suzy Kassem: “Life is like a piano. White Keys are happy moments and the black ones are sad moments. Both keys are played together to give us the sweet music called Life.” That quote stayed with me because it reflects so much on mortality. A piano would not be complete without both the white and black keys, and our lives would not become what they are meant to be without both joy and sorrow. Sometimes the difficult moments in life feel sharp and painful, like the flats and sharps in music, but they add depth, growth, and meaning to our story. This writing came from reflecting on how Heavenly Father sees the entire composition of our lives while we often only see one difficult measure at a time.

The Beauty of Every Note

The piano is a beautiful instrument of music,
With all of its keys we can produce pure magic.
All the white and black keys are permanently connected
But without the other, the piano would never be perfected.

Joy and sorrow in this life walk side by side
Without the darkness, light is easily denied.
Though sharps and flats may cast a heavy shadow,
The white keys keep our journey deep, not shallow.

There may seasons of waiting for a prayer,
When the heart feels shattered in the quiet air.
But we are never abandoned by our Father above,
For we are encircled completely in His perfect love.

Even in the moments of great heartache and grief,
He walks beside us to offer relief.
The chords may sound heavy, discordant, and long,
But He is still shaping a beautiful song.

We only view a single, difficult score,
While our Father in Heaven sees so much more.
He hears the beautiful notes of our song in life,
And He even sees what we can become through strife.

The Takeaway: Life’s hardest moments are not meaningless interruptions to our song. They are part of the melody God is shaping within us. The white and black keys together create the beauty of music, just as joy and sorrow together shape a faithful and meaningful life. Even when we cannot yet hear the resolution, we can trust the Master Composer to turn every note into something beautiful.

The Reflection Heaven Loves

My Daily Musings-May 16th, 2026

Sometimes the simplest moments can teach us something meaningful. Today I noticed the sunlight shining through my window blinds, casting beautiful patterns across the ceiling. For a moment, I just sat and admired how the reflection changed the way everything looked. It made me think about the reflections we see every day in our own mirrors.

For much of my adult life, I struggled to like the reflection looking back at me. But over time, I began to realize something that changed my perspective: my Heavenly Father loves my reflection. He created me intentionally — every physical feature, every personality trait, every part of who I am. What if I learned to look at myself through a Heavenly Mirror instead of through the harsh lens of comparison or criticism?

Would I notice more grace? More worth? More love?

I don’t think Heavenly Father measures our value by perfect hair, clean clothes, or flawless appearances. On the hard days when simply getting out of bed feels like a victory, I believe He still looks at us with tenderness and love. Maybe the reflection He sees is not one of imperfections, but of a beloved child doing their best.

What would change if we truly believed that?

Choosing Hope, One Morning at a Time

My Daily Musings-April 10th, 2026

Some mornings feel light and full of promise. Others feel heavy before the day even begins. Recently, I’ve been reminded of a simple but powerful idea: what we tell our minds to look for is often what they find.

What would happen if we started each day by choosing to believe it could be a good one?

I’ve always tried to hold onto a hopeful perspective, and I see that as a gift. But I also have days—especially with chronic illness—when hope feels harder to reach. Days when just getting through feels like enough. On those days, choosing positivity isn’t easy… it’s intentional.

Maybe it doesn’t mean pretending everything is fine. Maybe it simply means looking for one small light in the middle of a hard day.

What if “a great day” doesn’t mean everything goes right, but that we notice God’s hand in the middle of what’s hard? What if hope can be as small as getting through the next hour?

I’m going to keep trying—especially on the hardest days—to gently guide my thoughts toward hope. Because I know I’m not doing it alone. My Heavenly Father sees me, understands me, and stays with me… even on the days I spend on the couch.

And maybe that, in itself, is something good to hold onto.

The Greatest Gift of All

My Daily Musings-April 8th, 2026

Sometimes the sweetest gifts come on the most ordinary days.

A simple box of jewelry, a few pieces once worn and loved, passed from one set of hands to another. Not because of a holiday or a celebration—but simply because someone thought of you. Because they knew what you would love.

And somehow, that makes it mean even more.

As I’ve grown older, I’ve started to realize that the most meaningful gifts aren’t the ones with a price tag—they’re the ones filled with thought, memory, and love. A grandmother’s jewelry box. A mother’s quiet kindness. Small things that carry deep significance.

It makes me think of the greatest gift ever given.

Our Heavenly Father didn’t give us something small or simple—He gave us His Beloved Son. A gift given not because we earned it, but because He knew we would need it. Because He loves us.

How often do we pause to truly consider that gift?

Do we recognize His hand not only in the grand, sacred moments, but also in the quiet, everyday reminders of love around us?

Maybe the gifts we give and receive here are just small reflections of the greatest gift of all—meant to remind us that we are known, remembered, and deeply loved.
