“The wonderful thing about praying is that you leave a world of not being able to do something, and enter God’s realm where everything is possible.” — Corrie Ten Boom

My mom recently shared this quote with our family, and it immediately resonated with me. Having read Corrie ten Boom’s books, I know she endured incredible hardship. That makes these words even more powerful. She understood that prayer doesn’t always change our circumstances right away, but it does place us in the hands of a God for whom nothing is impossible.

Over the past few years, as I’ve navigated the daily challenges of living with chronic illness, prayer has become more important to me than ever before. I find myself turning to my Heavenly Father with greater sincerity and dependence, knowing He understands every fear, every disappointment, and every hope. I don’t know exactly how He will answer every prayer, but I do know that when I walk beside Him, anything is possible according to His perfect will.

When life reminds you of everything you can’t do, where do you turn? Have you experienced the peace and strength that come from placing what seems impossible into God’s hands? I’m so grateful that prayer allows us to leave behind our limitations and enter God’s realm, where hope is always alive.

My Daily Musings-July 7th, 2026

“Some days, you’ll feel like you’re sinking. But remember, the deepest seas hold the most precious pearls.”

Some days in life feel overwhelming. We may feel like we’re sinking beneath the weight of our trials, struggling just to keep our heads above water. Have you ever had a day like that?

Living with chronic illness, I know those feelings well. There are days when simply making it through feels like a victory. But even on my hardest days, I remind myself that the deepest seas hold the most precious pearls. Just as a pearl is formed in the depths of the ocean, God can bring something beautiful from our deepest struggles.

What if the trial you’re facing today is preparing something precious you can’t yet see? Hold on to hope. Tomorrow may bring renewed strength, unexpected joy, or a reminder that God has been with you all along. Even in the deepest waters, He never lets us sink beyond His reach.

The Love That Never Lets Go

Backstory:
This week, my mom and I memorized Romans 8:38-39 together. The more I repeated these verses, the more I realized how comforting and powerful they are. Life brings hardships, losses, fears, and unanswered questions, and sometimes those things can make us feel distant from God. But Paul reminds us that our circumstances do not determine God's love for us. Because of Jesus Christ, nothing in this life or the next can separate us from His unfailing love. 

The Love That Never Lets Go

Nothing can separate us from the love of God,
He is constantly cheering us on in our cheer squad.
Death can’t separate us from Him, Because of His Beloved Son,
For He fought the good fight and the victory over death was won.

Our Father will always be there no matter what happens in life,
Even if our troubles seem so big and full of strife.
No force, seen or unseen is greater than our Father’s love,
For He showers it upon us from up above.

We don’t need to worry or stress about today or tomorrow 
Because our Father has us in His hands so we can go with the flow.
There is no mountain so high and no valley so deep
Where He cannot find us because we are His Beloved Sheep.

There may be times when we might feel alone
Like we are walking on a road on our own.
But His love is always with us no matter where we are
And His loving touch can heal our every scar.

Our Father knew we would occasionally fall,
So He sent His Son to suffer for us all.
The love of our Father because of His Son,
Shines its beautiful rays upon us like the sun.

The Takeaway: There may be seasons when we feel alone, forgotten, or overwhelmed, but God's love remains constant. No trial is too deep, no future too uncertain, and no power too great to separate us from Him. In Christ, we are forever held in the embrace of a love that never lets go.

The Savior in Our Eventide

One of my favorite hymns is “Abide with Me; ‘Tis Eventide.” I’ve always loved its beautiful words, and I especially love the story behind it. The hymn was inspired by the account in Luke 24, where the resurrected Savior walked and talked with two disciples on the road to Emmaus. I find it fascinating that they didn’t recognize Him at first, and I love that Martin Lowrie wrote this hymn after reflecting on that sacred experience.

The plea repeated throughout the hymn, “O Savior, stay this night with me; behold, ’tis eventide,” touches my heart deeply. To me, eventide isn’t just the end of the day. It can also represent those moments when we feel alone, discouraged, or overwhelmed by the darkness of life’s challenges.

Those are often the times when I find myself turning most earnestly to the Savior. When my own strength feels insufficient, I need His peace, His comfort, and His presence. Like those disciples on the road to Emmaus, I want Him to stay with me—not just for a night, but always.

The beautiful message of this hymn reminds me that no matter how dark our circumstances may seem, we never have to walk alone. Christ is always willing to draw near when we invite Him into our hearts and lives.

The Things That Prick Our Journey

My Daily Musings-May 27th, 2026

Yesterday morning on my walk with my dog Coco, everything felt peaceful. The weather was beautiful, and we were almost home when suddenly I felt something sharp and prickly inside my sock. Because I was holding Coco’s leash, I couldn’t stop and take off my shoe right then, so I had to limp the rest of the way home until I could finally remove it.

It made me think about life. Sometimes we are walking along and everything feels good. Then suddenly something painful finds its way into our lives — a trial, heartbreak, illness, fear, or disappointment — and it changes the way we walk for a while. We limp through days that used to feel easy.

Some trials are temporary, but others last much longer than we expected. Some of mine have lasted for years and are still things I carry today. But even while limping home yesterday, I knew there was hope because relief was waiting for me when I got there.

I think that is what hope in Jesus Christ is like. Sometimes He removes our trials, and sometimes He strengthens us while we continue walking with them. Either way, because of Him, we are never walking without hope.
