Community Conversations

It has been a whirlwind of a week as we’ve settled into our new townhouse. There is something about moving into a new space that makes you reflect on the foundations we build in our lives—both the physical ones and the spiritual ones.

Speaking of foundations, I’ve been waiting patiently to share some news with you.

On Sunday, March 22nd, my guest appearance on the Latter-day Lights podcast will finally air!

When we recorded this back in January, I felt so much peace sharing my story and some of the reflections that have come from my writing journey. We dive into the “why” behind the verses and how we can find refuge even in the middle of life’s moves and changes.

Save the date: March 22, 2026. I’ll be sending out the direct link the moment it goes live!

I’d love to hear from you: I’ve been thinking a lot about “new beginnings” this week. What is one “storm” you’ve built a strong foundation through recently? Hit Reply and let me know—I read and cherish every one of your stories.

When You Cannot Remain Silent

My Daily Musings-March 1st, 2026

Recently I listened to The Heavenly Man by Brother Yun. One line has stayed with me: “When God truly moves in your heart, you cannot remain silent.”

I’ve been thinking about that.

When God plants faith deep within us—when our testimony of His love and of His Son, Jesus Christ, begins to grow—it doesn’t sit quietly. It presses outward. It longs to be shared.

That’s how I feel about writing. I don’t write because I have to. I write because I cannot remain silent. I feel that God gave me this gift and this testimony so I can proclaim that He lives, that He loves every one of His children, and that there is real hope in Jesus Christ.

What has God placed in your heart that is meant to be shared?
What gift has He given you that might light someone else’s corner of the world?

I truly believe He gives each of us unique talents so we can strengthen one another. We are not meant to hoard light—we are meant to pass it on. When faith builds inside of us, it is meant to bless more than just our own lives.

Maybe the reason you feel that stirring in your heart is because heaven never intended for you to remain silent either.

Every Story Holds Hope

My Daily Musings-Feb.25th, 2026

Recently I listened to Alisha Coakley’s farewell episode on the Latter-day Lights podcast—the same podcast I recorded an episode for last month. When Scott asked her what she learned from listening to so many people’s stories, her answer was simple and powerful: we can all make it through hard times, and there is always hope.

That stayed with me.

We truly have no idea what someone else is carrying. We aren’t walking in their shoes—and we never fully can. Each person is on a sacred, individual journey with God. So if we can’t see the whole story, shouldn’t we just choose kindness every time?

I also believe there is a reason we are given trials. What if part of the purpose of our hardest seasons is so we can later reach back and say, “I’ve been there. You’re going to make it”? What if our vulnerability becomes someone else’s lifeline?

That’s one reason I share my story. Not because it’s easy—but because hope grows when it’s shared.

And I hold tightly to this truth: God works all things for our good. Every heartbreak. Every unanswered prayer. Every long night. He is powerful. He knows what He is doing. He has a plan for each one of us.

So today I’m asking myself:
Who might need my kindness?
And am I willing to let my story become someone else’s hope?

We are all walking each other home.

Shining in Every Phase

My Daily Musings-Feb.23rd, 2026

I came across this quote by Nichole McElhaney:
“And the Moon said to me—you do not have to be whole in order to shine.”

The moon is never truly dark. Even when it is just a sliver in the night sky, it still gives light. It still pushes back the darkness.

How often do we wait until we feel “whole” before we allow ourselves to shine? How often do we believe our light only matters when it feels full and bright?

The truth is, even when we feel weary, broken, or discouraged—when our light feels like the faintest crescent—we can still shine. A kind word. A quiet prayer. A small act of faith. These are slivers of light that matter more than we realize.

And as we choose to shine, even in small ways, something beautiful happens: the darkness inside us begins to lift. Light grows when it is shared.

We do not have to be whole to shine. We only need to turn toward the Light. Jesus Christ is the source of it all. And even when we feel like only a thin crescent, His light through us can still illuminate the night.

So today, even if your light feels small—will you let it shine?
