Sometimes I think I am spoiled by modern conveniences. I am so used to things working properly that when they don’t, I feel frustrated. One of my favorite comforts—and a kind of therapy for me—is taking hot, deep baths. For several weeks, the water heater in our apartment wasn’t working well, and the water would quickly turn cold. A plumber came multiple times and replaced different parts. After each repair, I hoped it was finally fixed, only to feel disappointed again. When the water heater was finally repaired, I was able to take a hot, deep bath once more. The relief I felt turned into joy and deep gratitude. As I reflected on this experience, I realized how much it mirrors life. Sometimes we try to fix things on our own and grow frustrated when nothing changes. But when we involve our Heavenly Father and trust His guidance, things begin to work the way they are meant to. This experience reminded me that I don’t have to fix everything alone—and that peace and gratitude return when I rely on Him.

Where True Warmth Is Found

Life can be cold, and we shiver as the shadows grow,
Waiting for the water to regain its steady glow.
We try to replace parts or fix our struggles by ourselves
But then we make things worse as we put our faith on figurative shelves.

When things don’t work out the way we thought they should
We get frustrated and we feel like we are misunderstood.
We lose all doubt and hope for a little season
And we still just tend to rely on ourselves for some reason.

But then we remember we don't walk this path alone,
That our worth is eternal, and our sorrows are known.
So we drop to our knees in quiet desperation
And we plead to our Father and get out all of our frustrations.

Then we feel joy and gratitude quietly creep into our hearts
And we feel like we can make a fresh new start.
When we finally feel the warmth of God’s love on our skin
Then our faith won’t feel so dim.

When the spirit feels brittle and the water turns to ice,
We remember that His comfort comes without a price.
We just need to reach out to our Beloved Father up above
And He will help us feel warm again with His amazing love.
