“Your scars prove you have a past. Christ’s scars prove you have a future.”

Our trials sometimes scar our hearts and souls. But those scars can teach us lessons to help us grow and progress on our journey. We shouldn’t be ashamed of our emotional scars. They tell us that we have lived through difficult experiences and learned from them. Some trials are so difficult that we may wonder if we can keep going while carrying the heavy weight on our shoulders. Some days we may wonder if we can climb the huge mountains we have to overcome just to survive. To other people, our trials might not seem so bad. We all have hard times; no one is exempt. But only we know how hard our trials are for us to endure.

Our Savior, Jesus Christ, suffered in the Garden of Gethsemane so we don’t have to face our trials alone. He felt our pains, sicknesses, and all the things we suffer in this life. He died on the cross and rose on the third day so we could have hope for the future. His scars are a reminder of what He did for us. When we feel alone and discouraged because no one truly understands how we feel, we should reach out to Jesus. We can feel His loving presence whenever we need it. He loves us so much. That’s why He still has scars, to remind us of His love for us. Because of Jesus, there is hope for today and for the future.

How has Jesus Christ helped you find hope during a difficult trial? What do the scars of Jesus Christ mean to you personally?
