Prayer: The Most Powerful Tool

Thank you for subscribing-may these words bring a quiet moment of peace and reflection to your day.

My Daily Musings-May 24th, 2026

Prayer is such a simple thing, yet it is one of the greatest gifts our Heavenly Father has given us. I love the quote, “Always pray. It’s the most powerful tool against worry, doubt and fear.” Thinking of prayer as a tool changes the way I see it. Tools are meant to help repair things that are broken, strengthen things that are weak, and make difficult tasks easier. Prayer can do the same thing in our lives.

How often do we try to carry our worries alone before turning to prayer? What if prayer became the first tool we reached for instead of the last?

Over the last few years, prayer has become one of the most important tools in my life. In moments of fear, hurt, discouragement, and uncertainty, prayer has helped calm my heart and remind me that I am never alone. It may not always remove every trial immediately, but it helps heal the broken places inside of us. Every time I pray, I can feel my Father’s love and presence a little more deeply, and I leave feeling more whole than before.

Strength Found on My Knees

My Daily Musings-May 3rd, 2026

Life is hard for everyone. We all face trials that can feel like they might break us apart or press hard upon our hearts. Some burdens are visible, and some are carried quietly where no one else can see.

I relate deeply to this quote by Gordon B. Hinckley: “When life gets too hard to stand, kneel.” With chronic illness, there are days I literally cannot stand for very long. But I also understand these words emotionally. When life feels too heavy in my heart, I choose to kneel.

There have been days when discouragement brought me to my knees in tears, pouring out my heart to Heavenly Father. I don’t know where I would be without prayer. On the hardest days, it becomes my lifeline. On the easier days, it remains my anchor.

Where do you turn when life feels too heavy? Have you ever found that strength comes not by standing taller, but by kneeling lower?

Sometimes the greatest strength is found on our knees.

The Quiet Fight to Believe

Backstory:
On some days, faith feels steady and sure. But on others—especially in the quiet weight of ongoing trials—it can feel fragile, like something slipping through tired hands. This writing was born out of those harder days, when physical and emotional exhaustion make even prayer feel like a struggle. It is a deeply personal pleading to Heavenly Father, asking Him to stay close, to strengthen what feels weak, and to carry what cannot be carried alone. It reflects the quiet truth that even when faith wavers, it doesn’t have to disappear—and that we are never left to endure our trials without divine help.

The Quiet Fight to Believe

My dear and loving Father in Heaven,
I have faith that Thou lovest me without question.
But there are days when my faith isn’t very strong
Because of my trials I feel like things are always going wrong.

Some mornings it is a struggle to get out of bed
Or to pull the heavy covers from my head.
My faith wavers on those hard days
When it’s difficult for me to sing Thy praise.

Some days my body feels so weak
And every hill feels like a mountain peak.
Please, Father, help me to be strong and faithful,
And help me to recognize my blessings and be grateful.

Please, help me to feel Thy love for me shining in the darkest night,
And help me to recognize Thy embrace so I can feel more light.
Especially on the days when my faith is more fragile,
Stay close beside me through every battle.

My dear Father, some days all I can do is pray to Thee,
Please help me hold on to my faith so I can more clearly see.
Help me to feel of Thy loving embrace on my skin
So that the light of my faith never grows dim.

The Takeaway: Faith isn’t about never struggling—it’s about continuing to turn toward Heavenly Father in the midst of that struggle. Even when our faith feels small, fragile, or worn thin, He honors every effort to hold on. We are not meant to face our hardest days alone. As we reach for Him, even in our weakest moments, He stays—and He strengthens the faith we’re trying so hard to keep.

When Prayer Becomes Listening

My Daily Musings-April 11th, 2026

Mother Teresa once said, “Prayer is not asking. Prayer is putting oneself in the hands of God at His disposition and listening to His voice in the depths of our hearts.”

That thought has stayed with me.

I’ve been trying to listen more when I pray to my Heavenly Father—but if I’m honest, it’s not always easy. So often my prayers come when I’ve just woken up or right before I fall asleep, and I don’t always take the time to simply be still and listen. Maybe I’m not the only one who has felt that.

What if prayer is meant to be more than a list of needs? What if it’s also meant to be a quiet space where we let Him speak?

Heavenly Father truly wants to hear from us—our worries, our hopes, and the things we carry deep in our hearts. But He also invites us to slow down, to listen, and to just spend time with Him.

When was the last time I paused long enough to hear His voice? And what might He be trying to tell me if I made just a little more space to listen?

Moving Closer to the Light

My Daily Musings-March 23rd, 2026

God is light, and in Him there is no darkness at all. (1 John 1:5)

When darkness and despair begin to creep into our hearts, it can feel heavy and overwhelming. But light doesn’t coexist with darkness—it chases it away.

I’ve felt that in my own life. On the hardest days, especially with my health, when I turn to my Heavenly Father in prayer, something shifts. The weight doesn’t always disappear instantly, but His light begins to fill the space where the darkness was. My soul feels a little brighter, a little lighter.

What would happen if, instead of sitting in the darkness, we moved closer to the Light?

Where in your life do you need a little more of His light today?

He doesn’t expect us to find our way out alone. He simply invites us to come closer—and in Him, there is no darkness.
