Because He Is Good

1 Chronicles 16:34 says, “O give thanks unto the Lord; for he is good; and his mercy endureth for ever.”

I love this scripture because it reminds me of two simple but powerful truths: God is good, and His mercy never ends.

Lately I’ve been trying to focus more on my blessings instead of my chronic illness and the worries and stresses that naturally come with it. That isn’t always easy. Some days our trials feel so heavy that they seem to block our view of everything else. But even on those days, God’s goodness hasn’t changed. His love is still there, and His blessings are still all around us.

What blessings has God quietly placed in your life today? Have you taken a moment to thank Him for them?

I’ve found that when I pray and ask Heavenly Father to help me see His hand in my life, He opens my eyes to things I might have otherwise overlooked. Along with those blessings comes something even greater—the reassurance that He is near. He is always ready to listen, to comfort, and to remind us that we are deeply loved.

No matter what we are facing today, there is hope because we have a Heavenly Father who is perfectly good, perfectly loving, and whose mercy truly does endure forever.

Hope That Keeps Me Going

Some days, hope is what keeps us moving forward.

I was talking with my therapist recently about my health. The last few months have brought new and worsening symptoms that no doctor has been able to explain. I told her that I just keep going, hoping that maybe the next doctor will have answers or the next medication will help. She smiled and said it was a good thing that I always have hope that someday my health will improve.

Her words stayed with me.

I don’t know when that day will come. Even on the hardest days, when my body won’t allow me to do very much, I still choose to believe that better days are ahead. Where do you find hope when life feels uncertain? What keeps you moving forward when the answers don’t come as quickly as you’d like?

For me, that hope is rooted in my Savior, Jesus Christ. Because of His Atonement, I know that every trial has an eternal purpose, and I trust that in His perfect time, healing and peace will come. Until then, I’ll keep holding on to hope—one day at a time.

Colors After the Storm

“The rainbow never asks why the storm happened. It simply transforms what came after into something beautiful. Perhaps that’s life’s invitation too—not to stay stuck in the rain, but to become the color that follows it.”

I’ve always loved rainbows. Their beautiful colors have always symbolized hope to me. They remind me that no matter how fierce the storm was, something beautiful can still come afterward.

This quote reminds me that instead of spending all our energy asking why our trials happened or grumbling through them, we can choose to look forward with hope. God often brings unexpected blessings after life’s storms, even if we can’t see them right away.

Are you still standing in the rain, wondering why the storm came? Or are you watching with hope, expecting God to reveal the beauty that can follow? Sometimes the greatest blessings appear only after the darkest clouds begin to part.

The God of Macros and Micros

Thank you for subscribing-may these words bring a quiet moment of peace and reflection to your day.

My Daily Musings-April 23rd, 2026

Sometimes I hear something simple that reshapes the way I see everything.

Recently, I heard this idea: God is a God of macros and micros.

Macros—He sees the entire plan. Eternity. All of His children. The unfolding of His purposes. Nothing is random or outside His awareness.

Micros—He sees you. Your thoughts, your quiet prayers, your specific struggles. He doesn’t just know the plan… He knows your place in it.

I’ve always believed that my Heavenly Father sees the whole picture—that His plan for my life is bigger and better than anything I could create on my own. But I also believe He sees me individually, with a perfect understanding of what I need and when I need it.

And the same is true for you.

So when life feels uncertain, I think this is something worth asking ourselves:
Do I trust that God sees the full picture, even when I can’t?
And do I believe that He truly sees me—not just as part of the plan, but as someone He deeply knows and loves?

Maybe faith is holding on to both at the same time—
that the God who governs eternity is also guiding you, personally, step by step.

Community Conversations

I was speaking with my therapist today about my recent guest appearance on the Latter-day Lights podcast. I’ll be honest—I was feeling a bit discouraged. I had hoped to see a surge in new followers or subscribers, and when that didn’t happen immediately, I felt like I had missed the mark.

Then, she asked me something profound: “Would it be worth it to share your story if no one else ever listened to it?”

I took a breath, and the answer was a resounding yes.

When I watched the episode back, I felt a clear confirmation from Heavenly Father. He prompted me to do this back in January, and by recording it, I was simply being obedient. Stepping way out of my comfort zone didn’t just share a story; it strengthened my own faith.

As a writer and poet, I hope my words reach those who need them. But I’ve realized that the gift of expression was given to bless my life first. If I am the only one changed by my writing, it is still enough.
