I really agree with this quote I saw on Facebook that says, “Life is like a book. Some chapters are sad, some are happy, and some are exciting. But if you never turn the page, you will never know what the next chapter has in store for you.”

As an avid reader, I love this metaphor because it is very applicable to our lives. When we are going through hard trials, we may be afraid of what is coming next. But we just have to trust in our Heavenly Father, turn the page, and find out.

Even though we don’t know what will happen next in our lives, we can still enjoy the present and look forward with faith in the future. When we are reading a book for the first time, we don’t know what is going to happen next. Even if we are afraid of what comes next, we still need to turn the page to find out.

I write a lot on here about this topic of having faith and trusting in our Heavenly Father because it’s a daily struggle for a lot of us. Even if we have strong faith one day, the next day might bring challenges we aren’t expecting and our faith may waver that day. We have to keep having faith every day, no matter what happens in our lives.

Melodies & Musings

A while back, my Mom and I memorized the words of the song, It Is Well With My Soul. For many years, that song has been a favorite of mine. But especially after hearing the hardships that Horatio Spafford, who wrote the words of the song, went through before he wrote the song.

My whole life, I have held onto a firm belief of my Savior, that He suffered and felt all of the pains and trials I go through in this life. Over the last 4 1/2 years since I have been dealing with chronic health issues, my faith and hope in my Savior has increased.

I still have really hard days with my health when I don’t know if I can make it anymore. But those hard days come to an end and the sun always rises. So for me, that’s enough.

My Daily Musings-July 7th, 2026

“Some days, you’ll feel like you’re sinking. But remember, the deepest seas hold the most precious pearls.”

Some days in life feel overwhelming. We may feel like we’re sinking beneath the weight of our trials, struggling just to keep our heads above water. Have you ever had a day like that?

Living with chronic illness, I know those feelings well. There are days when simply making it through feels like a victory. But even on my hardest days, I remind myself that the deepest seas hold the most precious pearls. Just as a pearl is formed in the depths of the ocean, God can bring something beautiful from our deepest struggles.

What if the trial you’re facing today is preparing something precious you can’t yet see? Hold on to hope. Tomorrow may bring renewed strength, unexpected joy, or a reminder that God has been with you all along. Even in the deepest waters, He never lets us sink beyond His reach.

My Daily Musings-June 21st, 2026

One of my favorite hymns is “Abide with Me; ‘Tis Eventide.” I’ve always loved its beautiful words, and I especially love the story behind it. The hymn was inspired by the account in Luke 24, where the resurrected Savior walked and talked with two disciples on the road to Emmaus. I find it fascinating that they didn’t recognize Him at first, and I love that Martin Lowrie wrote this hymn after reflecting on that sacred experience.

The plea repeated throughout the hymn, “O Savior, stay this night with me; behold, ’tis eventide,” touches my heart deeply. To me, eventide isn’t just the end of the day. It can also represent those moments when we feel alone, discouraged, or overwhelmed by the darkness of life’s challenges.

Those are often the times when I find myself turning most earnestly to the Savior. When my own strength feels insufficient, I need His peace, His comfort, and His presence. Like those disciples on the road to Emmaus, I want Him to stay with me—not just for a night, but always.

The beautiful message of this hymn reminds me that no matter how dark our circumstances may seem, we never have to walk alone. Christ is always willing to draw near when we invite Him into our hearts and lives.

My Daily Musings-June 2nd, 2026

I was recently reminded that Jesus Christ has all power. As humans, we sometimes doubt, especially when we are in the middle of difficult trials. We may feel alone, misunderstood, or like no one truly knows what we are going through. I’ve felt that way at times, especially with my recent health struggles.

But the beautiful truth is that we are never alone. Even when those around us don’t fully understand our challenges, the Savior does. Through His Atonement, Jesus Christ experienced every pain, sorrow, struggle, and heartache so He could perfectly understand how to help and strengthen us. He knows exactly what we are facing because He has already carried it.

How might our burdens feel different if we remembered that the Savior truly understands every detail of our struggles? What would change if we turned to Him first for the strength and healing we need?

Jesus Christ knows us perfectly. He knows our individual needs, our fears, and our hopes. And because He has all power, He also knows how to help us heal, grow, and move forward one step at a time.
