“I will forever be the girl who says, ‘It’s all God’ because there is no way I would be where I am today without Him.”

I have been through many difficult times in my life. I really believe that if it weren’t for my Heavenly Father being there for me, I probably wouldn’t be where I am today. One especially dark time in my life was right after I had a miscarriage in 2009. I wanted to be a mother so much, and being pregnant was so exciting. I could imagine the great qualities that our baby would inherit from both my husband and me. I could imagine what our child would look like. Those dreams were cut short.

I didn’t feel like praying for a while after that experience because I was mad at my Heavenly Father for taking what I wanted so bad away from me. I eventually did pray again, and I felt His love for me so strongly that I never wanted to do without prayer again. I learned that this is His plan for my life, and I am okay with that. I still long to be a mother, but I’m content with the way my life has turned out. I know I could not have made it through that difficult time without my Heavenly Father right there beside me, along with my amazing husband, family, and friends.

Even though I face difficult challenges in my life now, I don’t know how I could make it through every day without my Heavenly Father constantly being there for me. I wouldn’t want to live every day without Him. Knowing that I can pray to Him, and He will be there whenever I need Him, brings me such peace and comfort, especially on the more difficult days with my health.

Have you ever experienced a difficult time when your faith or relationship with God helped you keep going? How has prayer brought you peace or comfort during a challenging season of your life?

The Roads We Never Expected

My Daily Musings-September 3rd, 2026

“Sometimes God leads you down a road you never would have chosen to grow something in you that you did not know you needed.”

I think most adults can agree that our lives didn’t exactly turn out the way we thought they would. I talked with my sister about this a while back. I told her that my life didn’t turn out the way I thought it would. I expected to be a mother, and that didn’t happen for me. But that doesn’t mean that I regret my life. I have a wonderful life with many great blessings I’m very thankful for. My sister agreed that her life also didn’t turn out the way she thought it would.

That’s why I love the idea that sometimes our Heavenly Father leads us down a road we didn’t expect so that we can have the experiences we need. We are here on this earth to learn and grow, and develop into the people our Heavenly Father wants us to become.

I try not to focus on the things I don’t have and be grateful for the beautiful life I do have. That’s why I write down my daily gratitude before I go to bed every night. It helps me focus on my blessings and be grateful instead of focusing on other things that aren’t important.

Has your life taken a different path than you expected? What have you learned from the journey?Have you ever looked back on an unexpected road in your life and realized that God was helping you grow through it?
