Rescued by His Love

My Daily Musings-July 3rd, 2026

I have always loved the hymn Come, Thou Fount of Every Blessing. The melody is beautiful, but the words are even more powerful. Today I’m sharing a video of me singing it because this hymn has spoken to my heart for many years.

The second verse especially touches me:

“Jesus sought me when a stranger, wandering from the fold of God. He, to rescue me from danger, interposed His precious blood.”

Those words remind me that Jesus never stops seeking us. Even when we wander, when our faith feels weaker than it once was, or when life becomes so heavy that we struggle to see His hand, He doesn’t walk away. He lovingly comes after us, reminding us that we are never beyond His reach.

I also love that He didn’t just rescue my soul through His Atonement. He chose to experience every pain, sorrow, weakness, and trial so I would never have to suffer alone. Because of Him, I always have someone who truly understands what I’m carrying.

I’m so grateful for a Savior whose love doesn’t depend on how close I feel to Him on any given day. His love remains constant, patiently inviting me back to Him again and again.

Questions to ponder:

  • When have you felt Jesus seeking you during a difficult season of your life?
  • Which line from Come, Thou Fount of Every Blessing speaks most deeply to your heart, and why?

The Anchor of My Soul

Thank you for subscribing-may these words bring a quiet moment of peace and reflection to your day.

Backstory:
Recently, my therapist and I talked about the importance of having "anchors" in our lives—people who help steady us when life's storms feel overwhelming. As I reflected on that conversation, I realized that while God blesses us with earthly anchors, Jesus Christ is the greatest Anchor of all. He is always there to hold us steady and fill our hearts with hope.

The Anchor of My Soul

For a sailor, an anchor is very important to a ship
Because it grips something steady and helps the boat not to slip.
Our faith can be found beneath the surface
But anchored in Christ, it has a great purpose.

Even when a ship’s anchor is down, the storms around it will still rage,
But the anchor keeps it grounded through every dangerous stage.
Jesus doesn’t promise us a life free from strife
But He will be by our side through the storms of this life.

Sometimes ships that are anchored have to wait for the storms to pass,
And our trials might make us feel weak as if made of glass.
But if we have faith and trust in our Lord
He will carry us through and we can have a sweet reward.

Sailors most appreciate an anchor during a fierce storm
Because they can trust that the ship won’t lose its form.
As we deal with the storms that come our way,
We should choose to lean on our Savior every day.

Our Heavenly Father sends us people who are like anchors on a boat,
They keep us steady so that during storms we can more easily float.
When the storms of life rage in our heart and soul,
If we are anchored in Jesus, we can feel well and whole.

The Takeaway: God often uses family, friends, and others to help us through life's storms, but Jesus Christ is the one Anchor who never fails. No matter how rough the seas become, we can trust Him to keep our hearts steady and our hope secure.

A Wholehearted Savior

Thank you for subscribing-may these words bring a quiet moment of peace and reflection to your day.

Backstory:
A couple days ago, I had the opportunity to sing Consider the Lilies in church. My parents drove an hour just to hear me sing, which meant so much to me. Before church, my dad told me that he is proud of me because whenever I find something I'm passionate about, I do it wholeheartedly and I'm all in. As I pondered his words, I realized they reminded me of Someone else who is all in all the time—our Savior, Jesus Christ. He wholeheartedly chose to suffer in Gethsemane, endure the cross, and rise again because of His great love for us.

A Wholehearted Savior

Jesus came down to earth to show us how to love
For He was sent by His Father from up above.
He went about healing and teaching the people
And He made their lives much more peaceful.

Our Savior suffered in the Garden for us with His whole heart
And even though it was painful and hard, He still did His part.
Jesus was accused and beaten for things He didn’t do,
And He carried His cross to Calvary for me and for you.

When He died on the cross, His mission didn’t end there,
For He rose from the grave to put hope in the air.
We are all human and sometimes we might feel like a failure,
But Jesus came to earth to be our Redeemer and our Savior.

Because Jesus suffered for us and He never gave in,
We can overcome our every weakness and sin.
If you ever feel like no one understands what you are going through,
Just know that Jesus is there and His love for you is true.

Because Jesus gave His whole heart and soul for you and for me,
We can change our nature and from our sins we can be free.
So, how can we pay Jesus back for what He did for us?
By giving Him our whole hearts, in faith, devotion, and trust.

The Takeaway: I don't do everything perfectly, but I hope to keep giving my whole heart to the gifts and opportunities God has given me. More importantly, I find great comfort in knowing that Jesus never loves halfway. He is completely committed to us, and because He was all in, we have hope, forgiveness, and the promise that death is not the end. His wholehearted love invites us to love Him and others with our whole hearts too.

Blooming Through Christ

My Daily Musings-June 30th, 2026

Quentin L. Cook taught, “We can thrive and bloom if we are rooted in our love of the Savior.”

I love flowers, and for a flower to bloom, it must first be deeply rooted. What if we thought of ourselves as flowers? Where are our roots planted?

As we root ourselves in Jesus Christ, we can bloom and grow because we trust that He holds us in His capable hands. He is the One who knows us better than anyone else, the One who suffered for us so we never have to walk through life’s challenges alone, and the One who can heal our hearts and help us keep going through dark and difficult days.

Flowers need the sun to survive, and we need the Son to truly thrive.

Where have you seen the Savior help you bloom through a difficult season? What would your life look like if your roots were planted more deeply in Him?

I know that I can’t imagine my life without faith in my Savior. As we root ourselves in Him, He can help us flourish, bloom, and thrive no matter what season we are in.

If You Were the Only One

My Daily Musings-June 26th, 2026

C.S. Lewis beautifully wrote:

“He died not for men, but for each man. If each man had been the only man made, He would have done no less.”

I love this reminder that Jesus is not simply the Savior of the world—He is our very personal Savior.

Through His Atonement, He felt every pain, sorrow, weakness, sickness, and heartache we will ever experience. He knows exactly what it feels like to walk through our struggles because He willingly experienced them all. Because of that, He can strengthen us in our weakness, comfort us in our grief, and help us become more like Him.

Have you ever paused to think that if you had been the only person on earth, Jesus still would have suffered and died for you? What does that truth say about your worth in His eyes?

His love is individual and personal. He knows your name, your story, and the burdens you carry. He walks beside you through every season of life.

Because of His great love, we never have to feel alone.
