He Loves Us Because He Is Love

Our Heavenly Father is love. He defines what love really means. His love is never conditional. He loves us even though we have so many weaknesses, shortcomings, and failures. He doesn’t give us love selfishly because He needs to receive our love. He selflessly showers His love upon us because He loves us so much.

I was taught at a young age that my Heavenly Father loved me. I have always believed it and I still do. The way I feel His love the most is when I kneel down and pray to Him. I can’t comprehend how He can be there for me and His billions of other children, each individually. But I guess I don’t need to understand that, I just need to believe that He is there for me whenever I need Him.

Another way I feel His love for me is walking and seeing the beauties of nature He created for me to enjoy. He is the Master Artist because this world is so beautiful. I love the many colors of His creations. I love looking at the flowers in the spring and the changing colors of autumn.

Our Heavenly Father truly is love. He exemplifies love. He defines what love really should be. If we need an example of how to love someone, we just need to look at how He loves us. I am human and I make mistakes daily. But He loves me no matter what. I can’t do anything to diminish or take away His love. His love is always there for me.

Over a year ago, I was having a conversation with my therapist about one of my favorite book series from childhood, C.S. Lewis’s The Chronicles of Narnia. We were talking about how heavy and sad it must have been under the reign of the evil White Witch—where it was “always winter and never Christmas.”

I’ve never been a fan of winter; once Christmas passes, I’m ready for spring! During our conversation, my therapist asked me a question that really made me pause: “What is your White Witch? What are the things in your life that prevent you from feeling happy and having hope?”

I spent time pondering that question and talking with loved ones, which inspired me to write this poem. I recently pulled it out of my journal to polish it up, and its truth rings just as true today. It’s so easy for negativity, personal weaknesses, and carrying the weight of the world to freeze our joy. But in Narnia, when the great lion Aslan appears, the ice melts, Christmas returns, and hope is restored.

In our real lives, we have someone infinitely greater. Because of our Savior, Jesus Christ, winter never has the final say. No matter how cold or overwhelming life gets, His grace brings the thaw.

Love That Changes Everything

My Daily Musings-July 6th, 2026

“When I have learned to love God better than my earthly dearest, I shall love my earthly dearest better than I do now.” — C.S. Lewis

I love the wisdom in this quote. It reminds me that putting God first doesn’t lessen our love for others—it deepens it. As we grow closer to our Father in Heaven, He helps us see people more as He sees them. That isn’t always easy because our mortal perspective is limited, but His love can gradually change our hearts.

What might change in our relationships if we loved God above everything else? How would we see ourselves and those around us differently if we looked through the lens of His love?

Our Heavenly Father loves each of us perfectly and invites us to love Him with all our heart, might, mind, and strength, and then to love ourselves and others. As we make Him our highest priority, He transforms the way we love, forgive, and serve. When God comes first, every other relationship is blessed.

Peace Is Found In Him

My Daily Musings-May 6th, 2026

C.S. Lewis once said, “God cannot give us a happiness and peace apart from Himself, because it is not there. There is no such thing.”

That truth feels so simple, yet so profound. Everything we have comes from God—every blessing, every tender mercy, every moment of light in our lives. So it makes sense that true happiness and lasting peace would come from Him too.

Sometimes we search for peace in other places—circumstances, achievements, or even the approval of others—but those things can only go so far. Real peace, the kind that steadies our hearts even in hard moments, is found in turning to Him.

When I stop and think about it, I realize how many blessings I overlook each day. There are so many small, quiet ways God shows His love—ways that are easy to miss if I’m not paying attention. And yet, they’re always there.

He wants us to feel peace. He wants us to be happy. Like a loving Father, He invites us to come to Him, to trust Him, and to rely on Him.

What might change if we more intentionally recognized His hand in our daily lives?
Where are we looking for peace—and could we turn a little more toward Him to find it?

The Road That Leads Home

My Daily Musings-Feb.22nd, 2026

“One road leads home and a thousand roads lead into the wilderness.”
— C. S. Lewis

I don’t know exactly what C. S. Lewis intended when he wrote these words, but when I read them, my heart immediately thinks of my Eternal Home.

There are so many paths in this world—so many voices, distractions, temptations, and definitions of happiness. A thousand roads that promise fulfillment but ultimately leave us wandering.

But there is only one road that truly leads Home.

For me, that road is Jesus Christ.

On especially hard days, when my heart feels weary and I long for my struggles to be over, I find myself yearning for the embrace of my Loving Heavenly Father. I imagine Him welcoming me home someday. That hope steadies me. It reminds me that this life is not the destination—it is the journey.

And I have to ask myself:

Which road am I choosing today?
Are my daily choices leading me closer to my Savior—or slowly into the wilderness of distraction and self-reliance?

If I keep my feet on the path of discipleship—following the Savior, trusting Him, repenting when I wander—He will lead me safely home.

We must choose wisely which road we walk.

Because only one leads Home.
