If you didn’t know this about me, I’m an avid reader. Reading has become more readily available to me since I discovered audiobooks and Airpods Pro headphones. I can listen to a book so I can have it in the background when I’m cleaning, coloring, cooking, and the list goes on and on.

I have always loved to read, although when I was growing up, I didn’t like that my teachers forced me to read books I didn’t want to read. I like reading what I want for the fun of getting into a good story and getting lost in the imagination of it.

So, the answer to the writing prompt of ‘If you could rewrite any book’s ending, which one would you choose?’ I thought of one of my favorite book series: Harry Potter, specifically the 6th volume, Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince. I really didn’t like that Professor Dumbledore died. Sorry if you haven’t read the series and I just spoiled it for you.

But I really loved Dumbledore’s character and how much he helped Harry get through so many trials and understand why things were happening to Harry the way they were. I realize that maybe Harry needed to stand on his own a little more and not rely on Dumbledore so much. But I still get sad every time I re-read that book and get to that part.
