My Daily Musings-August 17th, 2026

“God may call any one of us to respond to some far away problem. But we are finite and He will not call us everywhere. And real needs are not far from us.” C.S. Lewis

I have been trying to serve others more instead of focusing on myself and my trials. I have been praying the last few weeks for more opportunities to serve those around me and to follow the promptings I receive. I have been blessed to notice other people’s needs more. I have been blessed with more service opportunities. My Heavenly Father knows my health needs and He knows how much I can handle. So He is good at tailoring my opportunities to serve others to my needs.

It’s true that some of us might be called to other places in the world to help those in need. But there are many needs among the people around us that we might not know about. If we pray to our Heavenly Father to help us serve those around us we can help, He will provide us with those opportunities. Sometimes serving others might look like just giving them a smile when you see them in church. Other times it might look like watching a toddler while their parents are busy for a few minutes. We need to be sensitive to the Spirit so we can notice the needs of those around us.

My Daily Musings-April 19th, 2026

“For he shall give his angels charge over thee, to keep thee in all thy ways.” — Psalm 91:11

There are days when life feels heavy, and the world can seem a little too quiet. But I find comfort in the thought that we are never truly alone—that God sends angels to walk with us, to steady us, and to remind us that we are known and deeply loved.

I’ve lost many loved ones throughout my life, and one who was especially dear to me was my maternal grandfather, Wallace Raymond Lee. From the time I was little, we shared a special connection. He truly was the best grandfather. He lived in a small town in southeast Colorado, and I was blessed to have him in my life for 20 years before he passed away in 2003.

I’ve often wished he could have seen more of my life—my marriage and the path that followed. But even still, there have been moments when I’ve felt him near me, especially in times when I felt alone. Those quiet, sacred feelings have brought me so much comfort.

It makes me wonder… how often are we being helped in ways we don’t even recognize? How many of those small moments of peace or strength are actually heaven reaching down to lift us?

Maybe angels don’t always come in ways we can see. Maybe sometimes, they come as a feeling—a memory, a warmth, a quiet reassurance that we are not forgotten.

Have you ever had a day when your arms just felt too heavy to lift?

In Exodus 17, Moses stood on a hill during a battle, holding up the rod of God. As long as his arms were raised, the Israelites prevailed—but when they grew tired and fell, the battle began to turn. Moses wasn’t meant to do it alone. When he became too weary, Aaron and Hur stood beside him, holding up his arms until the victory was won.

I love the quiet truth in that story: even prophets needed help.

Sometimes we may feel like we should be strong enough to carry everything on our own. But maybe strength isn’t found in never faltering—maybe it’s found in allowing others to stand beside us when we do.

Who has helped hold up your arms when you didn’t have the strength? And are there arms near you now that might need your support?

Heavenly Father is mindful of us in our weariness. And often, He answers our prayers by sending people—steady, loving, willing—to help carry what feels too heavy to bear.
