My Grace Is Sufficient For Thee

Backstory:

I came across a scripture that I really liked. It’s from 2 Corinthians 12:9-10. It says, “My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me. Therefore I take pleasure in infirmities, in reproaches, in necessities, in persecutions, in distresses for Christ’s sake: for when I am weak, then am I strong.” Paul had just spoken about a “thorn in the flesh”-something that was ongoing, painful and humbling. Paul pleaded 3 times for the Lord to remove it. The Lord did not take it away. Instead Christ gave him a promise: “My grace is sufficient for thee”.

My Grace Is Sufficient For Thee

Every one of us on this earth makes mistakes, some of them over and over again,
But Jesus Christ did not come to this earth and suffer to condemn men.
His grace is not just forgiveness-
It is divine, enabling power in all of its richness.

If we feel like we won’t ever measure up because we constantly fail,
Jesus will shower us with His love from the other side of the veil.
He tells us comforting words like these:
“What you lack, I will supply, if you will just follow me, please.”

When we feel like we are capable of handling our struggles
Then we only rely on ourselves to get us out of our daily troubles.
When we feel weak, then we are forced to lean towards a divine power,
So that we can feel stronger, hour by hour.

So, how can we turn to Jesus more when we feel weak?
We will feel stronger and be able to handle more when Jesus we seek.
When we have a particularly hard day,
Instead of asking, “Why is this happening?”, we should say,

“Where is Christ sustaining me right now?”
And to Him in weakness we should more frequently bow.
We should just surrender to the One who makes weak things become strong,
And then we won’t feel burdened in our struggles for very long.

The Takeaway: We are all human and we constantly make mistakes. When we feel weak or like we can’t make it anymore, Jesus will come into our story and pick us up off the ground. He will shower us with His incredible love and help us feel stronger because He will always be by our side.
