Backstory:
I saw a quote on Facebook that I really liked. It was by St. Padre Pio. He said, “The most beautiful act of faith is the one made in darkness, in sacrifice, and with extreme effort.” This quote really resonated with me. We are meant to have trials in this life and sometimes discouraging moments so that our faith can be strengthened and we can turn to our Savior and our Heavenly Father for help.
Beautiful Acts of Faith
We are here on this earth not to have an easy time every day,
We are meant to have trials and struggles so that we can learn to pray.
If we had it easy then we wouldn’t need to have faith
And we wouldn’t have too much on our plates.
On our days when things seem uncertain
And our problems seem like a huge burden,
Or when our Father in Heaven seems so distant,
That is when He will be there in an instant.
To have pure faith we need to sacrifice something,
And with that sacrifice we get more back in return than nothing.
When we sacrifice something to follow Jesus,
Then our faith is more meaningful to us.
Faith is not always easy
And this we can all feel deeply.
When we struggle forward even when it feels hard,
That is when we can feel Jesus’ arms around us like a safeguard.
When we are in the refiner’s fire and we feel like we might get burned,
That is when our hearts to our Savior and our Father should be turned.
Only with their help can we make it through our hardest days,
They will lift us out of our moments of despair and we can sing their praise.
The Takeaway: This life isn’t meant to be easy. If it was, then we wouldn’t need to have faith. On our hardest days, when we feel like we can’t make it anymore, those are the moments when we should turn to our Father and His Beloved Son the most. With their help, we can make it through our trials and become stronger people.
