Weeds In Our Garden of Life

Backstory:
On my morning walks with my dog along a walking trail, I have noticed that there are a lot of weeds growing there. I was wondering the other day how the weeds could still grow even though we haven’t had any rain in a long time. Also, I noticed there were a few wild sunflowers growing there, bringing beauty to the other weeds.

Weeds in our Garden of Life
Weeds in a garden are usually considered as a bad thing,
Gardeners usually pull them out so they don’t ruin everything.
But weeds also serve a couple purposes in a garden,
They can actually improve the soil and provide food so the other plants don’t harden.

In our garden of life, our trials can be compared to weeds,
They hurt us and most of the time, they don’t suit our better needs.
Our trials can take over our lives like weeds in a garden,
And if we are not careful our souls will start to harden.

Our pesky trials could zap our hearts of the sunshine and light we so desperately need,
And that’s why they might seem like a useless weed.
We might feel like because of our trials, we might never again see the light,
And because of the darkness in our heart, this could feel like a dangerous sight.

Just like weeds, our trials can have a specific purpose instead of being a hindrance to our growth,
Even though we might feel like they are just trying to suffocate our throat.
We need to have a better attitude towards our trials so that they can refine us,
Instead of just moaning and groaning and constantly making a fuss.

If we trust in our Savior to help us through our hard time,
He can help us up those huge mountains we have to climb.
And with His loving arms around our shoulders,
We can feel strong like we can move any huge boulders.

The Takeaway: We all have trials or hard times in our lives on this earth. That’s just a fact of life. If we change the focus of our lives on our Savior, Jesus Christ, He can help us through our trials. And with His help we can feel strength and peace to keep going every day. We can count on Him that He will always be with us if we just reach out to Him.
