Backstory:
I listened to a really good book called Even This by Emily Belle Freeman. She tells of her trials and experiences and how she has learned to trust in God more because of those times in her life. I feel like I trust in my Heavenly Father a lot. Some days I can’t get through my day without Him. But in this book, Emily poses some really good deep questions I want to explore further.
Trust Fall with God
My Father, I am so grateful that I can pray to you,
And that after doing so I can see my life from a better view.
I feel like I trust in you every day
And the love I feel from you is more than I could ever say.
Although I have days when my trust in you is strong,
I have other days when I feel like my trials seem so long.
Do I trust in you enough
On the days when I feel like my lot in life is so rough?
Would I trust you enough for you to catch me if I fall?
So that together we could withstand all.
Please help me trust you with my heart
For with you by my side is a good place to start.
I have days when I feel like I am in despair,
And the weight is so heavy that I can’t get enough air.
I have so many trials and struggles in my life
That I wonder, “Where are you in all of my strife?”
I just need to trust in you more
Instead of feeling like the weight of my burdens is so heavy that I can’t get up off the floor.
I should see my trials as an experience to grow
And my blessings from you will always flow.
The Takeaway: We all have trials and hard times in our lives so that we can learn and grow into the person our Heavenly Father wants us to become. He knows our potential. He loves us so much that He will walk beside us for every step we take. We just need to trust in Him enough to give Him our burdens. He will carry them for us and help us along the way.
