Father, Help Me

Backstory:
Sometimes I get overwhelmed by my weaknesses and shortcomings. I have days when I don’t feel like I’m making any progress in my journey to strive to be a better person. When I lose my temper or get upset about something I know I shouldn’t, I feel like I’m slipping back into my old ways. Yes, we all have those days, I’m sure. Praying to my Heavenly Father and feeling His love and the love of my Savior always helps when I’m having those feelings.

Father, Help Me
My loving Father, I know that you love me,
But some days I forget because you I cannot see.
I get so frustrated with myself from time to time,
And I don’t know if I can make it up the huge mountains I have to climb.

I try to be a better person, someone you would be proud of,
And then I remember that from you I can always feel unconditional love.
I can’t imagine why you love me so much
And then I pray and feel your loving touch.

You love me so much that you sent your Beloved Son,
He would have still suffered what He did even if I was the only one.
I can’t imagine the depth of His love for me
To suffer and die so that I can feel forever free.

I have days when I feel good about who I am becoming,
Because in my ears your love is constantly humming.
Then I have days when I wonder if I will ever be enough
Or if I should even keep going because my life is so rough.

It would be so much easier if you were here in person,
Then your presence in my life I would know for certain.
Please, Father help me to turn to you more,
And just remember that you are always there for me if I will just open the door.

The Takeaway: I think we all have days when we wonder if we will ever be good enough because of our many weaknesses that we are trying to overcome. Some days we may feel like we are constantly failing. We just need to remember that we have a Loving Father in Heaven who is always there for us and loves us so much. We also have a Savior who has already paid the price for our sins and weaknesses. He is always there to help us overcome those things. We just have to reach out to them and they will be there to help us.
