Backstory:

I was listening to the RVVL podcast a few days ago. The 2 hosts were talking about being in relationships with people to the point of close friends and family members being able to say to each other, “You are mine and I am yours.”  Being in close relationships like those brings a sense of belonging. Also, knowing that someone will be there for you is a precious gift. Then they were talking about being God’s and Jesus’ people and what those relationships mean for us.

You Are Mine and I Am Yours

Having people close to you

Who you can turn to

In times of trouble

Is an incredible gift for us in our little bubble.

We can always trust that we can turn to our Father in Heaven,

And He will be there for us without question.

For we are His people and He is our Father,

And that relationship for Him is never a bother.

We can also trust that our Savior,

Jesus Christ is there for us no matter our constant failures.

We are His people as well,

His love for us in His heart will always swell.

Like most relationships we need to give something in return,

But the love of our Father and His Beloved Son we never need to earn.

We need to be the best people we can be,

And we can trust They will be there for us when we go to Them on bended knee.

Being their people will help us feel like we always belong,

And with Them by our side we can always feel strong.

No matter what challenges we face,

We can trust that They will help us fight this earthly race.

The Takeaway: Hopefully all of us have earthly relationships with people we can count on. We can always trust that no matter what, we can always count on our Father in Heaven and His Beloved Son, Jesus Christ. They will always be there for us and will be by our side through everything we face in this life.
