Our Prayer Bridge

Backstory:

I saw a Facebook post that I really liked. It said, “Prayer is the bridge between our struggles and God’s strength, turning whispers of hope into echoes of miracles.” I like the imagery of prayer being a bridge. A bridge connects two separated places. So prayer is what spans the distance between where we are and where God is. We don’t have to figure out how to cross that distance on our own-prayer creates the way.

Our Prayer Bridge

We all have struggles that make us feel weak, small or even alone,

And we might feel like we have to do this life all on our own.

We have a Loving Father who for us will always care,

He isn’t far away and He will answer our every prayer.

In our moments of weakness when we feel like we can’t hang on any longer,

We just need to kneel to our Father in prayer and we will through Him become stronger.

We should picture in our heads a bridge that connects us to our Heavenly Father,

We can be connected with Him in just a moment and to Him we are never a bother.

When we pray, we don’t need to rely on our strength anymore,

And if we trust in Him, then we can more easily get up off the floor.

With our Father by our side, the impossible becomes possible,

Even though we might feel weak, together we can overcome any obstacle.

Our Father isn’t here with us physically

But we can feel Him with us spiritually.

He can take our smallest hopes

And transform them into blessings so that we can more easily cope.

Prayer shouldn’t be just a ritual that we do

When we are feeling especially blue.

It should feel like a bridge to heaven

That helps us connect to our Father’s power without question.

The Takeaway: We are not meant to go through our struggles in this life alone. Our Loving Heavenly Father is always there for us. Even though He isn’t here with us physically, we can think of prayer as a bridge to connect us to Him. Through prayer, we can be blessed with strength, peace and hope to keep going, especially during our hardest moments.
