Backstory:

I love the BYUtv show, Relative Race. One of the team members learned that her biological mother passed away before she could meet her. She said something like, “even though she will never be able to meet her mother, she had a picture of her and she got to see how much they looked alike. And every time she looked in the mirror she could have a piece of her mother with her.” This really stayed with me and it made me think about what an amazing gift family is and the love of our families. I also thought about the love of our Heavenly Father. I wondered if I have some of His physical characteristics and if I can see His likeness in the mirror?

Looking in the Mirror

We are put here on this earth in a family,

That is what our Heavenly Father intended for us so we can live happily.

As we grow up we might notice some characteristics of our parents in us,

When we look in the mirror we can see who we look like and that is a plus.

Our Father in Heaven sent us to this earth so we can feel of His amazing love,

Even though He isn’t here with us physically we can feel His presence from above.

We are told that we were created in His image and likeness

And I think if we could see Him then we would feel more of His closeness.

He created us all different and unique

But we are all His children even though at times we might feel weak.

We can’t even begin to imagine the depth of His love for us His children,

But we can feel His presence and His voice in our hearts if we will just listen.

We all lived with Him before we came to this earth,

He gave us this life so we could discover our Divine worth.

It must have really hurt His heart to let us go from His presence,

But we can feel a glimpse of that love in its essence.

Our Loving Father loves us all so much

And when we feel alone we can feel His Loving touch.

He wants us all to return to Him after this life

When we will embrace Him again and be free from our earthly strife.

The Takeaway: We are put here on this earth in families for a reason. One of those reasons I think is so that we can feel a glimpse of the love our Heavenly Father has for each one of us. We can’t even begin to imagine how much He loves us but we can feel His presence in our lives so that we never feel alone. He will always be with us no matter what.
