Backstory:

After I got home from my short trip this last weekend with my Mom and one of my sisters, I felt very glad that we went to visit family members we hadn’t seen in a long time. I am very blessed to have such a warm and sweet family. While I was there hugging those family members, I felt instant love and warmth inside me. I think it’s just a small glimpse of the love our Heavenly Father has for us. He lets us feel this love for our family members so that we can learn to be more like Him and love others the way He loves us.

A Warm Quilt on a Cold Day

We are put here on this earth to learn to be more like our Heavenly Father,

Some days we might lose our purpose and wander.

We have family members while we are here

To catch a glimpse of our Father’s love that can cast out all fear.

Being with our family so loving and warm

Should help us feel less lost even if inside we are going through a great storm.

Being wrapped up in their love

Should help us feel the love of our Father from up above.

Even though we can only feel a small amount

Of the love of our Heavenly Father, it should still count.

We can feel His love any time of the day,

If we will just let Him into our hearts to stay.

When we feel alone

And like we are on our own,

We can imagine that our Father’s love is like a warm quilt

On a cold wintry day we can be wrapped up in so that we don’t start to wilt.

Our Loving Father desires us to feel His love,

Since He can’t be with us physically, but we can still feel it from above.

He loves us so much,

And even on our hard days we can feel His Loving Touch.

The Takeaway: We are put here on this earth in families so that we can feel even a little bit of the love of our Heavenly Father. We are human and we can’t even begin to imagine how much love He has for each one of us. His love and His warm touch for us is available any time we need it. We don’t even have to ask for it because it is always there for us.
