Backstory: 

I love the show, The Chosen. I watched an episode of the new season the other day and something hit me really hard about it. Jesus was sitting with His disciples and friends around the Passover table before He completed His mortal ministry. They were going around telling Him that if He had just done this and not this, then “it would have been enough.” I firmly believe that Jesus is our personal Savior and that He can help us anytime we need Him.

It Would Have Been Enough

If Jesus had just come to the earth 

Just to show us our unique worth,

It would have been enough.

But instead, He went through all the hard stuff.

If He had been just another baby when He was born,

But instead, He taught us to mourn with those who mourn.

If He had been just another child, It would have been enough.

But instead, He showed us how to love.

If He had been among the people

And helped them see that they were all equal,

It would have been enough.

But instead, He didn’t just go through an easy life of fluff.

If He had suffered in the Garden

Without finishing His mission, Him we wouldn’t need to pardon.

And it would have been enough,

But instead, He felt all of our pains that were really rough.

If He had just been willing to die for us

Instead of actually dying that would have been a plus.

And it would have been enough for you and me.

But instead, He suffered and died so that we could all be free.

The Takeaway: Our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ suffered and died for each of us. No one else could have done what He did. Because of His amazing love for us, He finished His mission of love on this earth. Because He did this, we can be sure that He knows how we feel at any moment. He is the only one who can help us heal from our pain and suffering.
